Haha nice OP :p

I didn't touch IE once on Xbox 360...
But it might actually be useful on the Xbone because of voice commands, smartglass, and snap..

Looking good. Hope all the built-in entertainment apps are as feature-packed as their Windows 8 versions and end up having mouse-support

No, but then relatively few people still actually use that dying browser. :p

NetApplications... Interesting selection of source you have. Quite an outlier to what is otherwise a data consensus stating the contrary. Not to mention just how increasingly insignificant IE is when you account for how much browsing is now dominated by mobile and tablets. But the stats below are purely desktop.

I do get the feeling that the Xbox One OS will be quite a bit more polished than what Sony developed for PS4. Windows 8 is a solid OS with a nice, fluid design and it seems to translate well to XB1.

Such futuristic pictures with Tony Stark and Minority Report, yet this still doesn't support flash or silverlight. Right?

This... looks better than the one on Win8... wtf...

Thanks, MS. The one company actually making good touch screen browsers is still only half assing it.

Seems pretty stable market share. Dont know what you have against the browser...

Hey I didn't bring Chrome into this discussion. :D

Dropping 3-4% in a single year is not "stable" in browser market share. (Nor is IE market share stable; it's growing pretty fast with a 3-4% gain in a single year).

Chrome is a terrible experience on a Windows touch screen device. Google might want to think about looking into that.

probably because it's not made by microsoft....

Firefox is my main desktop browser. IE is the only thing useable on touch screen though and it's gotten a lot better. Still need my plug-ins though. I use Xmarks to keep my browser favorites/bookmarks in sync between browsers.

This has some real world applications...I follow a small NCAA basketball league (the America East)...lots of their games are streamed on the web, if I can just watch this on my XOne...

#winning!

This.

By ignoring touch on Windows 8, Google have literally allowed MS to convert me into a full time IE user.

This.

Pretty much! It works out pretty well for MS too since now IE 11 is actually glorious, so it's not like people are met with a shitty browser that's good with touch. XB1 wins another one for being an awesome media center :D

It's almost like Google doesn't realize it's not a good thing to shaft all people on windows platforms, it's sort of backfiring imo.

they won't
google wants to ignore Microsoft in everyway until they die
they won't even let MS make a youtube app for windows phone unless they meet standards nobody else has to (html5)
Had an android tab and really disliked it but chrome was and is still my favorite browser, unfortunately no good chrome for surface or windows phone which I use so I'm stuck using IE.

That has to be the first time I've ever heard someone associate Silverlight and Flash with being "futuristic" -- both mothballed by Adobe/MS. I understand the desire for Flash, but the increased HTML5 support is more forward thinking.

I don't know what the level of Flash support will be (Flash is built-into IE11 on PC afterall). That being said websites that heavily rely on Flash and Silverlight are probably better off as native apps on Xbox One. I'd rather use a Netflix/YouTube app than Netflix/YouTube in the web browser. Same for Flash games, I'd rather they be optimized native apps than running inside of a browser.

Xbox One's UI looks so fluid and nice to use. IE looks great on it too, much more functional than the PS4. It's to be expected with Msoft's experience in building OSes, but it still is really sleek!
