I think the optics of a Greek (white) man going into Egypt and slaying brown people is probably not a great image. Even if the assertion of modern racial categories into Ancient Greece and Norse history is problematic and inaccurate, I think in this current media environment its not the best image
If SSM do decide to continue with Kratos and/or Atreus as the protagonist and they go to Egypt or a non-white mythology, they will probably team them up with a native protagonist. Just like how it was controversial when it was originally thought in RE5 that Chris was going to go to Africa mowing down black zombies, it became less controversial as soon as they revealed Sheva
