Curious, I looked through EA game releases and other than Fallen Order I haven't touched an EA game in nearly 15 years!

I've never seen ads during actual gameplay, but in the menus, yes. Just the other day, there was an update for FC 25 that added ads for FC 26 in the menu, and there's no way to block them, every time you open the game, they're there. In BF1 I've also seen ads for other Battlefield games.

The only company I've seen showing ads during gameplay was Microsoft with Forza Horizon 4, after races, videos about the game's DLCs would pop up. I hated that.

RDR2 still is my personal benchmark for open world games. I'm currently doing my second playthrough, halfway through chapter 3, 280+ hours played. AC Odyssey? Barely touched it.

RDR2 is still the benchmark for open worlds to this day and I'm certain it can only be beaten by GTA6.
