If the media doesn't care about a mass shooting, did it really happen?

I'll leave it to good ole Tucker to explain why there's almost zero mention of this horrible shooting from the media.

BTW there's no mention of it on *that* forum as well, when usually you get a 1000+ reply thread for a "typical" mass shooting event.

I dont know if they updated the story but I saw this yesterday.

It was a 28 year old female who was a former student. No signs of who, name, picture. But info came out today (googled it). Didn't know about the possible trans part, but the ABC article says this:

A police spokesperson told ABC News that Hale was assigned female at birth, and pointed to a social media account linked to Hale that included use of the pronouns he/him.

Tucker is a joke. That’s completely clear to anyone who looks at his records in the fox law suit.
That being said, the shooter is crazy. Mental issues. Gender view has nothing to do with that.
If that was the cause, many more shooters would be trans. They aren’t. Stop being as stupid as Tucker expects his viewers to be.

I don't want to post a lot because this thread is going to get locked; but it was on every single news organization imaginable.

There's only one thing that matters here: that isn't a person, but a monster.

We need to stop having children being shot at schools, the most obvious way to do this is to reduce guns in circulation.

It's a very USA kind of thing.

It goes beyond guns because other countries in the world can have lots of guns per capita too (never as much as the US of course). It's a culture thing. They go together. When you got a lot of off kilter mental cases and easy access guns of course its a recipe for disaster. How can it not be?

People will bring up... well a lot of gun violence are gangs so it skews it. Bullshit. All these Columbine shooter cases arent broke ghetto kids trying to impress gang lords. It's often actually clean cut suburban schools. So something is messing up in society.

But you never get school shooting sprees like the US. In other countries it's a rare event. It's so rare, the event becomes a giant remembrance day kind of event because it's the only thing to talk about for 10 years. In the US, school shootings are so frequent, there is no way anyone can keep up or remember them all.

I remember here on GAF maybe a few years ago when we were talking school shootings and I got something wrong because I got the wrong shooting mixed up with another that happened the month before.

We've shown as a nation that we cannot handle the responsibility. I grew up surrounded by guns, hunted throughout my childhood. I know how to handle them responsibly. We have too big of a minority that clearly do not know how to handle themselves, nevermind guns, and it is endangering our society and our children. I have treated too many teenagers with gunshot wounds.

Other countries also have more stringent gun regulations than we do. I saw a few months ago... I think it was Sweden... They have a big gun culture but they really respect their guns. They ALSO do deep background checks, don't sell guns to people with sketchy history like DV or mental illnesses like schizophrenia. Here, politicians are pushing for everyone, even ex-cons, to get them ... No license, open carry. We don't want to learn.

The reporting is definitely different than if the shooter were your typical white guy. A similar phenomenon happens with police shootings. Its pretty common for AP or reuters to blast a police shooting of a black person in the middle of the night but the story fades out as soon as its determined the suspect was armed, the office was also black, or there was otherwise no ambiguity as to the need to use force. I don't think its agenda so much as business. Some types of controversy sell. The negative fallout of focusing on the trans part isn't worth the traffic increase long term.
