...it's that when doing a word search on a page, it doesn't search in text boxes, like the one I'm typing in now. IE does. Any way to change that, or is Firefox just retarded?

Do you mean in the preview release? I rather like having the text field pushed off to the bottom. That way there's no chance of the search string coming up under the box, and me missing it.

No no no, in all Firefox releases. I'm talking about the search engine not searching within text boxes, like the one I'm typing in now. It makes it really aggravating when I want to search for something in a post I'm typing and it only searches the webpage outside it.

Hey now, this wasn't supposed to turn into a Firefox hate-fest. It's supposed to be a "solve demon's problem and make him happy"-fest.

Why doesn't Firefox 1.0PR work with my Logitech Cordless Click Optical Plus mouse's back and forward buttons?

Is there any sort of extension for it? :(

There's also an extension that lets you search within a selection, not sure if it works with 1.0PR.
Do you know what it's called?

That's weird because it worked in this text box... I typed the word chicken then clicked outside the box, then I hit forward slash and typed in chicken and it found it.... you have to click outside the text box to take the focus away then activate the search with the foward slash.

Hey, it's not like I didn't warn you. :p At least you have it in the extension manager now, just occasionally check for updates.

Never realised I could use forward slash, always pressed ctrl+f. Is there a quick way of closing the find box at the bottom, say if you've clicked out of it?

You mean once you are done? Not sure my version doesn't even have a pop up find box... it just jumps to whatever is found... try hitting the esc key.
