If you pre-order a game at Best Buy . . .

. . . are you required to pick up the game at the same Best Buy where you placed the pre-order?

I want to pre-order Guild Wars to do the beta event next weekend, but I'll be out of town all week and was going to pick it up at a local Best Buy out of town, but if I won't be able to pick up the actual game at a Best Buy back home when it comes out that won't do me much good.

Yes, my friend found this out the hard way. Preordered Halo 2 Collectors Edition at the nearest Best Buy, and then found out about the Midnight Madness sale a different store was having. He called one store and some sales rep told him it shouldn't be a problem, so he went and stood in line for a couple hours. About 20 minutes before they started selling, the manager came around asking who had preorders. He showed his, and the manager told him he couldn't get it there, he needed to go to the other store.

It only makes sense I guess. The whole reason for a preorder is so that store can allocate a specific number of copies for those people that preordered at that store.
