Absolutely not, that overpriced piece of crap can stay out of my house. No OLED, $450, $90 physical games? Those greedy pieces of garbage can fuck off. I'm on a full boycott.

Hell yeah.

Look, the console being $450.00 is actually cheaper than I expected.

If nothing else, it is a way to bring my huge Switch backlog forward.

It will also give me the option to buy the Nintendo games I want and even wait for sales. I do not even have to buy a Switch 2 game right off to get a great benefit from this. The software pricing isn't great but it isn't a deal breaker for me. I'm already thousands of dollars deep in Switch software and this will let me bring it forward so of course I'm buying this for $450.00. It's a slam dunk. The Nintendo games which I will inevitably play are just icing on the cake.

I can understand if the games were normal price but the console was expensive, not getting one, but in this case, the barrier to entry is low. $450 is actually a very reasonable price considering inflation and what the pro just launched for or what you have to pay for an XSS. The device itself is a fucking steal and I've got years of software for it, so why not. I don't think the people who think $450.00 is "expensive" had realistic expectations. Do they not know what the Switch 1 currently costs? It's still going to be sold....did you think the Switch 2 would be the same price as Switch 1? If so you aren't smart. You only had two other options of what it would be, 399.99 or 449.99, so you only had two options(assuming it wasn't over priced which it isn't). So what you are really saying is you are what, pissed it isn't $399.99? That's why you are mad, lol? I'm certain the vast majority of people here would have guessed this hardware price correctly anytime this year, so why are you saying the console itself was expensive when most people really already knew this price? I know why. Because you aren't that knowledgeable of the situation but like being offended, so you just slap all the things in your Switch 2 storyboard together on here without understanding exactly what is going on. The hardware price is fine. It's cheap actually. The uproar is over some of the software going up 10 bucks. Wait till you see what the next gen is charging on Xbox and Playstation. This is not the first price whine recently, remember the Pro. It's great too, and has been FAR better than the haters wanted it to be.

Fukt no.

scared not safe for work GIF

Yes, because I'm a big Nintendo fan-boy stupid head.

BUT -- If I can, I'll get the Mario Kart Bunduru, because I ain't paying $80 for a game that Nintendo will sell millions of over the lifetime of this system. And I'll use it to play TotK and maybe even BotW the way they should be played (although I had no lack of enjoyment with those games).

EDIT: And I TOTALLY GET those who are waiting.

No mention of DLSS and not many cool new games on release like Zelda or a nice JRPG sort of killed my hype.

That's a wait for me. I'd like a new Zelda, Mario, Fire Emblem, Xenoblade, or Smash Bros. before I buy in. Then I'll catch up on the Mario Kart and Donkey Kong fun.

Sadly, I'm leaning more towards no. Metroid Prime 4 looks absolutely amazing but it's hard to overlook a handful of negatives I have with the console. I went into yesterday so hyped too. Now I'm thinking about waiting for a Steam Deck 2, building a budget PC for Steam OS, or just upgrading my PS5 Slim to the Pro.

FUCK YES. I wanted to have a handheld for a long time.

I've been holding off on playing Tears of the Kingdom and other first party titles, so this is perfect. I don't mind paying 10/15 euros for an upgrade pack since I already own almost all major first party games digitally

I was going to but unfortunately there are too many turn offs. 90 euro games and key cards being the biggest offender. The price of the console however seems reasonable. Looks to have a great screen. VRR 120hz is super nice. 7.9 inch screen. Metroid Prime 4 looks god tier. Donkey Kong looks super fun to play.

But there are still many questions unanswered for me to jump in day 1. Battery life seems weak as fuck with just a 20 watt battery. Will the Eshop get a redesign? How will third party games perform? I'm already reading impressions where some of them are 30fps and 540p.

And then you have SD cards that are stupid expensive and capped at 256gb. Pro Controllers are equally pricey. Better to wait and see what third party like 8bit do brings to the table. Maybe they can patch support for old controllers like Ultimate.

I'm gonna wait and see how Switch 2 will be embraced by the market. Look at some teardowns of the hardware and DF reviews of the first batch of games. I'll probably bite when Nintendo does a revision and improve battery life and performance. Maybe the backlash online will make them reconsider their pricing. Until then I'm more than good with my Switch OLED and backlog of Switch games. It'll keep me occupied a few years still until I see real value from the Switch 2.

No. I don't like mk enough to pre order it. If they had a 2d zelda or metroid I probably would grab one.

Mario is just really boring having played them my whole life.

i was going to, just to catch up on the switch games i missed. But i realized i never played my switch and i sure as hell wont play it with $90 games

Yes

Hello,

you had recently requested to buy the Nintendo Switch 2 on amazon

Unfortunately, we were not able to accommodate your request.

Well apparently no

I've pre-ordered it already. They don't take payment until end of May/start of June so Nintendo better impress the hell out of me over the next month and a bit. So far, Mario and TotK are the only games I'm really looking forward to. Almost everything else they've done so far is putting me off though. From DRM to the ridiculous price of games is pushing me to cancel, but I'll see how things play out over the next few weeks before making a decision.

No. Maybe a few years from now, I will get one. Switch 2 will be my secondary console. There are so many games coming out for Ps5 from April to June. I plan to purchase Indiana jones, Doom Dark Ages, Death Stranding 2, and Stellar blade x Nikke.

Nah. From a portable perspective, I've gravitated to my ROG Ally as I like having access to my Steam library and Game Pass. There are some Nintendo games I like, but I don't see myself carrying around two devices nor do I have the desire to spend another ~$500 right about now. Maybe some day, but not right now.

Was going to, after the kinda flat direct and the prices of games and accessory, I don't even know if I'm gonna buy a switch 2 at all, let alone pre order it.

lol already did. I'm a slut for Zelda & Xenoblade games. I know I'm part of the problem.

Fuck yeah, I want to play Mario Kart and next month Donkey Kong Bananza.

I also I go where Monolith Soft goes.

I can't find a preorder. Amazon doesn't have a listing and my local GameStop said they're not taking preorders until May 9. I don't trust my local Best Buy with hardware preorders, as they've screwed me before.

Nah.
I don't do much handheld gaming and while I like some Nintendo games they just aren't worth $80 to me ($95 after tax).
Normally I'd say I'd just wait for sales but it's Nintendo so that's not an option either.

Maybe in a few years, I'll see how the physical market reacts in my country. With Switch 1 you can usually buy games used and resell them for pretty much the same price, but first I'll have to see if enough people around these parts pick one up for there to be a decent second hand market.

Really on the fence about this one. I prob will but I'm finding it hard to even though the switch has been one of my favorite consoles ever! Guess I better make my mind up before the 9th.

Not only am I not pre-ordering one, I am not getting it all together. That bullshit $90 game price combined with many games will just be a "Physical key" to download a game is pure trash.

I will wait for the Switch 2 emulators to play the few games I really want to play on Switch. They will run better on my pc anyway.

Digital Foundry also recorded slow down in some of the switch footage during the direct. Imagine paying $80-$90 for a third party game that runs worse than a current console or even a mid level pc.

Yes I have it pre-ordered because:
- The price of the system does not matter to me (It does not even cost a sixth of my 5090)
- Why wait when Nintendo systems usually do not drop much in price anyway
- I want Donkey Kong, TOTK and DuskBloods

Hoping for a Deck 2 in 3-4 years which would make a Switch 2 obsolete for me
I really hope that we'll rather get the Steam Deck 2 2025/2026. Deck is my most used electronic entertainment device. But I'll get the Switch 2 for the exclusives when it'll become worth it.

I thought about it but now I rather just ignore it and proceed to upgrade my PC. To me Switch 2 blew it with the price & not owning the game.
