IGN Editors... on a t-shirt

Geek

Ninny Prancer
I'm about 80% positive this is from the recent Wonder T Festival (#23 - Blood Simple) that happens in or around Akihabara every few months.

It's by a group called Scarab Vision. This sort of stupid gaming/internet meme thing on a shirt just really makes me happy for some reason. Makes me wanna say "YIPPEE!".

Boo-Yeah?

Lame.

Sometimes the Japanese slightly misspell certain English words or phrases. Not sure if you're aware of this. Some people find that REALLY FUNNY for some reason.

Where did that pic originally come from? An E3 or something? There's also one with them looking disappointed too.

?

the 'disappointed' pic came from E3 2003 (nintendo showing nothing but that GBA connnectivity Pac-Man game)

the "yipee" pic is from E3 2004, Nintendo revealing Twilight Princess and Nintendo DS

I thought the yippee was from E32002

I've been wondering that for years.Do they come from actual articles/forum posts that could be linked to or what? They've become so infamous now, I'd think SOMEONE would keep track of something like that.

is it? i thought it was last year cause i remembered the "Reggie totally took his name" photoshop crap
I'm not positive.

I just thought the yippie was when they first showed WW or something, and then the :( L( L( was when they had pac man the next year

The disappointed pic was from the E32k3 Nintendo conference. The happy pic was released by the editors in advance of E32k4, to hype us up or something.

For the record, i've always hated that joke (see above, no offense), and i completely get the reference. In any case, look for this to be the shirt to have at E3 next year, for the guys who have the chest of an 8-year old girl.

Am I the only one who figured the second picture ("Yipee") was completely staged? The posing is pretty over the top.....

Dude, have you ever been to a E3 Nintendo press conference? For non N-bots, it's very uncomfortable to say the least. Grown men openly weep at Zelda trailers, kiss the ground Miyamoto walks on, the works. People go nuts.

That said, yeah, I always thought it was a fake photo ;)

I liked the ones where the drawings made the editors into anime chicks better. Far funnier than this shirt.

it was staged, they showed it on teh IGN forums the day before the conference to increase the hype
along with a picture of a realistic Link and the sentence "Hot or Not?"

I don't need to say that everyone knew nintendo was going to show another cel-shaded zelda

heh, why is matt cut out?

Matt's expressions are the best parts in both of them.

And I think it's because the three anime girls were already existing characters before the infamous pic showed up, so only three of the expressions were used.
