There's a good amount of gameplay options, but it lacks a bit of "oomph" to the production outside of the racing.

Very slick and speedy graphics engine that moves along with gusto. There's a bit of pop-up in and graphic glitches left over, and the game has a "dark" appearance that needs to be bumped up a bit.

The licensed music is ousted for more generic, but competent original soundtrack. Engine noises are pretty similar no matter which car , and every incoming vehicle has the same "doppler effect" horn.
7.5 Gameplay
Very fast, smooth, and fun racing game that gets challenging all the way through the level progression. Lame mini-challenges hurt a bit.
8.5 Lasting Appeal
Tons of different ways of racing in NFSU2, and the multiplayer, though multiple carts required, will increase the play even further.
