IGN Review - Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney

7.8

Even with its strict, linear design, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney is a good throwback to the old-school point-and-click PC adventures. The game's script is worth the price of admission by itself; intriguing characters, unique situations, and well-written and humorous dialogue keep the interest level high all the way through the multiple chapters. The way Capcom has a habit of recycling its popular game properties into multiple sequels, I'm convinced this won't be the last we'll see of Phoenix Wright in the states. His first adventure on the Nintendo DS isn't all that difficult to complete, but it does a decent job of kicking off his career over here.

If someone posted this (lock me) :P

Gamespot scored higher.. wtfbbq.. Still buying

Once again, another case of the score not justifying the review. He names only one bad thing and that drops it to a 7.8??????

Score is unimportant. This game is brilliant and should not be passed by any DS owner. My US copy should arrive any day now.

Bizzarro night? It's almost the exact opposite score Gamespot gave it!

I don't understand the score, either.

It looks like Craig thinks Phoenix is a souped up and well done text adventure but at the end of the day he isn't all that hot on text adventures.

Either way, I think I'm gonna pick it up tomorrow along with Oogie's Revenge (the flesh is weak when it comes to Capcom).

No, an exact opposite score would have been 1.2, given that Gamespot had given the game 8.8

You know, if the reviewer doesn't like the particular genre, then why bother taking his words seriously or even bothering to post it? Just stop there and buy the game if you already know you will enjoy it.
People need to keep in mind then when a person posts a review, he's basically saying "this game deserves XX provided that you have tastes similar to mine"
