Been searching around the Internet and found the 40gig for $340, however, a 20gig is definitely enough. Looking for the best model at the lowest price... seems like retail is $299 but surely someone is selling for cheaper (otherwise I'd just put 40 more in on 20 more gigs).

Apple's very strict with the pricing of its products, the chances are very slim that you'll find it much lower than retail. Maybe by a few dollars, but that's it.

yeah, get the student discount. go to the students section in the website, select your school and you would be good to go.
still comes out to about $292 w/ tax and shipping.
i got mine for $275 and free shipping from amazon during the thanksgiving sale. you could wait and see if amazon offers the sale again, they usually do for holidays.
