I'm going on the Runway

On sunday I'm going to get fitted and measured and trained to walk up and down the runway. My moms friend set something up for where I was invited to be a part of a runway modelling thing that will eventually take place sometime in April. I'll have more details on Sunday and I will have my mom take photographic evidence. :D

But yeah, I pretty much got my first job as a professional model. I felt the need to share this with GAF since I am excited/nervious.

It's my first job though, so woo!

Don't get mixed up with that stuff-- it's a seedy world. I have one male and one female close acquaintance who model regularly, and it leaves a lot to be desired. I mean, it's nice to get paid and all for doing practically nothing, but...no. What kind of company recruited you at your age, anyway?

The kind of company that would have me work for places like Sears/J.C. Penny catalogs in the teen clothing sections and whatnot. Commercial stuff.

There's nothing seedy about it so far, but this is the first non training/real experiance I'm going to have. My moms going to be there the entire time so I don't think anything too fucked up can happen.

Ah, ok, that's a bit different. The people I know do runway and some print stuff for Calvin Klein and Versace. Big difference-- as is, I would imagine, the fact that we're in NY. :D

Modelling is a lot harder than I think any of you think.

Photoshoots are fucking grueling, and I only had to sit through training photoshoots. It's not easy at all.

Not only that, but you'll most likely have to deal with other asshole, snobby, & stuck up models. Best of luck though :)

The people my age aren't too stuck up. There's a few exceptions. I think the longer you do it, the more stuck up you get.

Yeah, but you might be dealing with child models that have been doing it since their preteens. One of my mom's friend's had a child model, and he was (probably still is) the biggest douchebag I've ever known.

It's good money, but since you're doing runway for some department store fashion show, I'm not sure what kind of pay out you'll have. The real money is in high-end runway stuff and print work -- if you get a chance at doing print work, grab it. I had a fit-model job for a bit and that was 80 bucks an hour, but fit-models don't get used very regularly. Not as often as runway or print models can be, at least.

If you plan on seriously going for this, don't get swindled into paying 600 dollars for a portfolio or 1000 for modeling school. It's entirely unecessary (though, the girls on America's Top Model make it seem more difficult than it is, what's with those girls? lol)

Also, make connections. Get to know photographers (you're a little young, though). If a photographer has enough clout, likes the way you perform in front of the camera, and just really likes your personality, you'll have a better chance of being used again *or* a chance at being referred to another photographer. Connections are nice -- when I was chosen to model a new line of tuxedo for this small Formal Wear company, and after having it fitted and altered to me, they let me have it afterwards. Extras are always nice.

I know there was another guy here who has a lot more experience, he'd be a good person to talk to. I think he was banned, though.

At any rate, congrats on the job, don't let it go to your head =)

I sympathize. Painting houses in 90 degree heat for 12 hours a day, six days a week just seems so much easier now :lol.

It's based on nothing, if it were based on something, you'd see the proof right now and GodsHand wouldn't be banned.

The picture I posted on Opa-Ages was not kiddy porn, I googled for regular porn and posted it, than quickly deleted it in a "post your picture" thread to get a rise out of people. I never actually SAID it was me, it WAS NOT child porn, and I AM who you guys know I am.

It would seem GodsHand is confused saying I'm not who I am after he describes his interpretation on how I look, as well as referring to me as 'she' the entire post. I don't think even GodsHand believes the shit that he's perpetuating because.

It's bullshit, and I would appreciate you ignore every stupid rumor to come out of Opa-Ages. Someone do theirs and stop taking what the people there say so fucking seriously unless it holds some actual water.

Not to MENTION, people there and here, with the exception of a few of you, would not know who I am right now if it weren't for some stalker who found out my real age and name that I posted on a different, non-age and non-gender descriminating forum. Then posted all the information there for all to see. Then to have someone post the real pictures of myself I gave to their friend, whom I asked never to share with anyone or post on the forum. I went through Serafita went through already, except I didn't do what she did because of mental issues. I did what she did because at around that time I was under 13 and under 13 = Ban. It's not of my will that people know who I am right now, but they do. So fuck it.

Just ignore people like him, please. I don't bother anyone, I don't bait, troll, or flame (much), and when I do nobody notices. I don't even post often because I feel I'm constantly being looked down upon by the majority of people here. I for the most part, just want to be left alone, and left out of the kind of bullshit that people like Godshand start.
