Too short for the NBA.

You do have a shot of making the Knicks though. If you can meet with Isiah I am sure he would sign you to a 8 year max contract on the spot.

Funny NHL draft story about the Buffalo Sabres...

In the 1974 draft Punch Imlach selected Taro Tsujimoto of the Tokyo Katanas using 183rd pick overall. Everyone thought that the Sabres had uncovered a new talent from Japan. So who was this new unknown future superstar? There's two stories on this part of the pick. The first states Imlach picked the name out of the phone book, the second that Tsujimoto was a waiter in a Japanese restaurant that Seymour Knox III had visited the night before. And "Katana" was the Japanese word for a sabre. Regardless of how the name was picked, the pick itself turned out to be a joke played on the other GM's by Imlach. Weeks later Imlach admitted as much and pick was declared null and void by the NHL.

Nobody will draft you. :p
Says who? :lol My entire point is anyone can enter the NBA draft...hell why doesn't a game company use it for marketing...kinda like a career mode thing have some Joe Schome enter the draft have a press conference etc and have that whole thing be part of the ad :D

Have you figured out how to do it yet?
If you enter the draft, I will enter it too, and then we can issue a joint press release saying that we will only play if we get drafted (traded) to the same team.

It is a complex process. Essentially you need a scout to vouch for you and a pile of paperwork to fill out. Pretty much if you have not been to pre-draft workouts and nobody has heard of you they will just ignore your request. Don't think your the first Einstein to dream this up. I bet millions of Internet dorks and bored nerds have applied and been denied.

The NBA is not stupid. They don't publish a list of high-school losers and they don't invite rejects to the draft room floor.

I think we should encourage him to enter the draft.

If he makes it to the NBA, then every single one of his posts on GAF will be super-valuable, since they are ALL autographed!

Apparently, absolutely nothing would stop you from doing it. Shavlik Randolph from Duke has entered the draft, at a whopping 4 points and 4 boards a game.

I really don't understand that move. We'll miss you if you leave Shav.

Umm, I think he realizes that this is as high as his draft stock will ever get. He's not going to get playing time with McRoberts coming in, so I guess he thinks he might as well leave now.

He missed his boat, his draft stock peaked as a Junior in HS.

I have the same feelings about McRoberts, he is everything Randolph was supposed to be, and Shav would be lucky to pull more than 20 min next year, barring injuries.

Well, I meant as high as his draft stock would ever get at Duke. Funny how both Duhon and Randolph were considered surefire lottery picks out of HS (or maybe Duhon was one year after Duke, can't remember) and Duhon went early 2nd while Randolph is probably gonna go late 2nd/undrafted (yes, a very thinly veiled potshot at Duke :p).

Duhon forgot how to shoot after his freshman year. It was the damndest thing, but the NBA puts a lot of uneeded emphasis on PGs who can score. He had a great year with the Bulls. Boozer was also a second round pick.

Randolph has no chance to get drafted. I'll honestly be shocked if he doesn't come back to school, but there is no way he'll be drafted.

You can take shots all you want, you're the champs. I'll get my jabs in next year ;)

edit--there have been just as many highly recruited players for UNC that didn't make pro as there have with Duke. 10 years ago you might have had a point, but the last ten years has led to a lot of dook pros, regardless of their stock coming into the program. Where's Ed Cota? Joe Forte?

Yeah, next year is gonna suck for us UNC fans...but I'm already looking forward to 2006-2007! Tywon Lawson (#1 rated PG on by Bob Gibbons and scout.com!) commited to us today :D

Joe left early...I really wish he would've stayed, he could've been really good. The only good Duke people in the NBA that I'm aware of are Elton Brand, Corey Magette and Grant Hill when he's not injured (I might be forgetting some though). I remember a week or so ago SportsCenter top 10 was about the best colleges to produce NBA players and UNC was #1 (something like 26 combined titles for the players from UNC), so eat it! :p

It's ironic, only one dookie has ever won an NBA title, it was Danny Ferry on the Spurs.

Anyway, this really isn't the place for this particular argument, I find it amusing that the Heels finally win again and they still take shots. That 8-20 season must have been tough. Don't worry, I'm sure they'll win at least 12 next year :lol

Hey, we have immunity to talk shit as long as we're champs (and when we're not too! :p). But yeah, we'll end the conversation for now.
