My pop is finally giving it up. I wanted it for years. Now I just have to find an appraiser. Any recommendations?

Its a 1970 litho print of Salador Dali's work titled "Patient Lovers" also known as "winter and Summer". Its 248 of 300 and hand signed and numbered by Dali.

What's the opposite of schadenfruede? You know when you're mad at people when something good happens to them?

Heh, I thought it was a real REAL one.

Good for you though, otherwise my sis would have probably taken you out :p

What? I'm not selling it. I want to have it insured so I need it appraised.

Never mind then, that's the total opposite of what I thought you were doing. If it were my art, I would ask a member of the art faculty at my university to recommend someone.

Envy.... closest german word.... Missgunst?

My father is in posession of authentic Salvador Dali sketches and original paintings. I figure they're not as interesting as this guy's picture (although they're not prints) - one's a big canvas with Dali's signature all over in thick black paint - but they're all pretty cool. One's this really sick looking tree that has a bloody swastika carved into the center of it. It scared me as a kid.

I'm at home, so I could take some photos.

Yea. Please do. BTW: found it appraised at $6,500. Not bad IMO.

IIRC, he was found purchasing Marijuana and arrested later in possession of it. The arrest was no big deal, but Dell let him go anyways because it was bad for their image.

If that's true about the coke possession, then that's pretty sad...

That's pretty cool... all I inherit nowadays are bills... fucking people and their inability to pay for their own shit.

:\

That's awesome, but for a second there I thought you were getting a deli. Now THAT would've been sweet.

:lol

Yeah, that's a sweet thing to own. I'd like to see some of the stuff Dali directed... it's gotta be trippy

my family owned a deli when i was a kid. With a super mario bros. arcade machine in it. Iguess i would have inherited that had they not sold it like 15 years ago. DAMN YOU FAMILY!

I wanted to go to the NY art museum about 8 months ago (I think thats when it was) cuz they restored a Disney animation that was all completely animated by Dali. It sounded sooo awesome. It was only like 8 minutes, but that'd still be awesome to see.

Make sure it's real and original. Dali willingly let people make copies of his work back in the day to piss off collectors of his works.
