I tried getting Intel Active Monitor before, and it locked my PC right the hell up. I couldn't even turn it on.

Finally bought a new PSP, but then pushed the demon onto someone else. Jesus.
Maybe your computer is shit?

You wish it was. In fact, your Mom was mesmerized by the pretty blue lights inside last night.

Motherboard Monitor

I use this (MBM5) and it works like a charm.

Am I supposed to know what motherboard I have if I bought the PC from Dell?

Is there a way to tell?

Um, look on the motherboard itself? Find a logo, part number, anything that will let you do a google search!

well, of course demi. I'm not that stupid.

The program is on a configuration screen now though, and it wants to know the mobo. Is there anything I can do short of turning it off to find out?

Motherboard Monitor did a good job keeping a big temp log for me, but on my Intel mobo it would lock up about 20% as soon as it was run at system start. And then, if I had to reboot my PC while it was hot, the chance of lockup rose to about 80%.

Took me a good while to realze that MBM was doing this. Haven't had any problems of the sort since it was uninstalled.

I do run the Intel utility on occasion. Have had no trouble with that.
