Looking for a decent budget smartphone

I am willing to look at every suggestion here, so that means IPhone as well, because I can't lie, I like how those phones look and feel. Plus in the case I were to go for one it would be a brand new experience, something entirely different compared to yet another Android phone. But I need to make sure the downsides to a IPhone won't be too problematic for me.

There is no way in hell I'd be getting a new one, just not willing to shell out that kind of money for a phone, but refurbished perhaps? But 120hz is a must, great battery life is a must, a peak brightness bright enough for outside is a must too. From what I've seen standard IPhones don't have 120hz support, kinda crazy, but the Pro models do have it.

Which ones should I be looking for to get a good deal and that ticks all the boxes for me?

And a Galaxy S24 can be had for 350 euro in a legit store, it's in perfect condition. At another store there's the S24 FE for also 350 euro with two years of warranty. That IS a good deal, isn't it?

Stick with samsung if youre already an android user. If you want Iphone then sure go ahead, but having so many accounts is weird(samsung, apple, google, etc.)

Good point. That's actually something I didn't take into account and for sure is going to suck, to have to adjust to that.

Plus I saw that when it comes to mah for the battery, it's significantly lower than some of these budget phones, wtf.

The cheapest flagship phone is the OnePlus 13... 6,000 mAh battery, 100w charging brick (it comes with an 80w brick), IP69 rating, wet touch screen (it'll correctly read your touch whether you're in the rain or your fingers are wet), lighter OS (Oxygen OS15) and some of the best cameras out there) ... I could go on.

It sucks so much that it likely won't come with the charge here, so ridiculous and it's not exclusive to Oneplus either.

See if you can get the US version of the S24, it has a better processor than what the international release got. You will have to check the model number to be sure.

Huh? What country are you in? The 100w comes with the phone in the EU/Europe...

It does? So Oneplus isn't like many of these brands that according to Youtubers and reviews excluding a charger? That's good to know.

I'm in The Netherlands.

Coolio. Yes, then you should be good. I'm in the US and my OnePlus came with the charger.

I feel like best bang for your buck is a refurb OnePlus that's one or two generations old.
Like the Nord 4 perhaps? There are good deals going around for that one. And sure it might not have specs on par with some other phones, it does sound like a good upgrade over my Xiaomi Poco X3 Pro and that screen is pretty cool, plus a metallic finish.

I went to the store and tested the Oneplus 13r and Nord 4 today. Both are very nice, but man, it's painfully noticeable now much nicer the screen of the 13r is. Both feel good in the hands, are very snappy and fluid.

Also tested the Samsung S24 FE, nice looking phone as well but I think I like the Oneplus 13r's screen more.

The S24 FE that I tested is € 452,90. The Oneplus Nord 4 is € 349 and the 13r is € 499.

I'm definitely not sure if I can justify spending 500 euros just to have a great screen, when all I do with a phone is WhatsApp, Internet browsing, little bit YouTube and very rarely a game.

Alright, last bump for now.

The Oneplus 13r is now available for € 499. Good price. But that's without charger in Europe. So I went to Facebook Marketplace, found a listing for this phone. Its the 256gb version, with SuperVOOC charger, with receipt and thus warranty and it's from May this year. No scratches, no damage, as good as new.

€ 325

It's 30 minutes driving distance from my home, we're gonna check it out Monday, but it seems very good. This would be one amazing ass deal. It's how I got my Oneplus 3 back in the day too.
