Impromptu Tarot Readings

Give me a cold reading consisting of incredibly general predictions that any person could identify with. Y'know, just the same thing you'll give to everyone else.

Tarot, astrology, crystal balls, palmistry, reading tea leaves, etc. are all bullshit. Sorry.

There was a bit in one of the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy books where someone compared astrology to tossing powder on a piece of paper to see the indentations. Is it supernatural in any way? No, of course not, but it can still be mildly interesting to see how people apply what they've been told to their own life. I'm a hardcore skeptic, but I'm still going to ask for a reading, to see how I interpret the meaning of what's been given to me. [The placebo effect should not be discounted, either.]

OP: Give me a reading on my future love life. Am I going to be able to open up to someone?

What the hell, I'll bite. I'm not superstitious at all, but this is fun anyway. My love life, go.

Edit: Actually, maybe you can do something with this. I had this really fucked up dream about a week ago and it's been bothering me ever since.

For context, in real life, my ex girlfriend broke up with me about two months ago, we were together for five years.

Now in the dream, for some reason I was at some kind of Halloween party and dyed my hair pink. I had also managed to get a date on an online dating site, which was set for the next day. The dream fast-forwarded to the date, and I got there, and the girl looked nothing like the pictures on the dating site: It was my ex-girlfriend, and somehow she did not recognize me at all. I thought to myself "Hmmm, maybe I can have some fun with this." and just kept up the act. I even used my real first name, and she STILL didn't realize it was me. The date went on, and then somehow she ended up talking most of the time about her past relationship with me. She started calling me all these horrible things, saying I was an atheist like it was a bad thing. Then it got even weirder from there. She took me to her apartment, and I went inside and there was blood in places all over the walls. She was pointing it out to me and claimed that this was where I constantly beat and raped her, and I did not say anything out loud, but in my head I kept thinking "This is fucking bullshit." Eventually we went back outside, and I was going to go back home for the night. Before I got in the car and left though, I told her who I actually was. She had a shocked look on her face, and then I woke up.

I kind of want to make a "Dream Interpretation-GAF" spinoff thread on this. Even if it is a bunch of bullshit, it's kind of fun.

Specific, please: Will I get over what has been haunting me? Will I grow through it and past it, and stay stable with my love?

These are fun, and can be made into a positive with the right mindset.

King of Pentacles (Upright).
You're very methodical and decisive in your actions, and should trust your own judgment.
Your work and your family come first, so let nothing else be in the way.

Four of Cups (Upright).
Growing disinterest and boredom with events at large. A feeling of having already accomplished enough, and becoming withdrawn.

The first part is spot on. I am bored with most things. The second part is partly dead off. I don't feel as if I've accomplished enough if anything. But I am withdrawn, though not becoming withdrawn, I simply have been that way forever.

I'm in! :D Anything about the job front, specifically short term.

Eight of Pentacles (Upright).
You focus on the short-term, without thinking of the bigger picture.
You get by with things as they are, but there's greater potential if you decide seek it out.

OP: Give me a reading on my future love life. Am I going to be able to open up to someone?

The King of Swords (Inverted).
Purely consisting of selfish desires. You have direction and a driving purpose, but can't think of anyone mattering. Any relationship would be used to further your ends.

I'll take one :)

In most curious about the near future......actions to take, things to focus on.....

Knight of Pentacles(Inverted).

Laziness and idleness.
If you don't find something to occupy your time, you'll become complacent and possibly ignorant about your surroundings. Seek out a driving purpose.

What the hell, I'll bite. I'm not superstitious at all, but this is fun anyway. My love life, go.

Seven of Wands (Upright).

You're beset on all sides by adversity, but you have a distinct advantage.
You can easily get by on your own. If relationships prove too troublesome, do without them.
(Which, in reference to the dream, could simply be a sign to let things go.)

Thank you sir.

I'm a bit of a reader myself, though I tend to use it more as a psychological tool.
I think a good rapport with who you are reading as well as their contribution is important, and so I'm not big into one card cold readings.

Still, I'd be very interested in a broad reading from you, especially to see if any of my traditional cards happen to come up.

Dale

give it to me baby

The type doesn't matter, whatever is convenient.

The Magician (Inverted)

Indecisiveness, a refusal to move on and leave the past behind.
Without moving forward, you'll continue to be weighed down.

I have an open mind, give me broad strokes!

Chariot (Inverted).

Your reach extends your ability. Beware of going after something you can't hold onto, or it'll escape you, and leave you behind. It's also possible you're afraid to make a much-needed change.
