In need if a new oldish phone: LG G7+ vs Samsung Galaxy S9+

Ok, I am TRYING HARD to decide between these two phones. I love both companies and I genuinely think they're two of the best from last year but I can't decide...

LG G7 ThinQ (only difference between the regular and + is RAM and basic storage)

Samsung Galaxy S9+

I hated the LG skin when I had the G6, don't know if it improved much with the 7. It had some random performance problems as well, and photography was meh outside of the wide angle lens.

The S9+ Is much better imo. Much nicer screen, One UI is very good, fast performance and the hardware is just beautiful. The night shots that you can take with the S9 are fantastic compared to the G6.

I actually have the G6 right now. Haven't had any problems with it. By comparison, I had more problems with the S7 than I've had with the G6 but that phone was great (until the screen shattered without a case from only 1.5ft... my G6 took a wild tumble on the asphalt and only got a slight scuff on the metallic corner)

That said... I've found both at good prices and just can't decide. The camera isn't too much of a problem for me... I've been satisfied with the G6 camera, especially after the recent update. The One UI is intriguing to me ATM.

I actually upgraded from the G6 to the S9+, that's why your post caught my eye. The night shots on the S9 are a huge upgrade, and the portrait mode is quite nice. Both are good phones, but the OLED screen on the S9 is just ridiculously good.

I may not be picky, but unlike some of y'all I love my LG G6. I got it September 2017 for $400, and it's still performing well. Both phones you're debating are good... my decision would come down to your local price.

I still have my G6. I just needed an upgrade. Bought both the G6 and my V40 outright.

Note 9 is the best phone I have ever owned bar none. The price should be dropping on it, if you want to take a look. Also the One plus 6 is a fantastic device.

I would have said the Samsung 9 but the V40 is a nice phone too. I considered one myself last time around. Just small margins separating these type of phones so I don't really view many as bad choices.
