How long did it take you guys to complete Infamous? Just picked up the game and started playing Saturday.

First time around (with all sidequests finished and every collectible found), it was around 23 hours, give or take two, three hours. So it's not a short game.

I'm hoping the sequel doesn't pull a Metroid and strip you of the powers you already gained.

I think a Pulse power that explodes in all directions around Cole to clear out all near by enemies would come in handy.

Like's the final boss attack ! That would be cool indeed.

I'm also thinking to a way to get airbone very fast. Maybe a power jump, taking a couple of second to load but it would boost you up like 10 meters in the air. That would be very usefull I think

It only froze a couple of times when I was tunring off the system from the in game XMB, but never during actual gameplay

That is the perfect length for me. Thanks for responding.

I think they could also do stuff with upgrading existing powers, I'd like to see a sequel have upgrades to the Heal/Restrain/Leech abilities, that makes them affect multiple people at the same time.

Woooo! Just got my Platinum trophy for this baby.:D My very first Platinum, and I enjoyed every minute of it.

What an awesome game, can't wait for a sequel.:D

Have a nice fall is so much easier in the beginning of the game, glad to hear you got it.

I'm down to TWO shards. I'm resorting to looking one by one using a map w/all the shards on it.

Ouch. I'm down to 7 and I think I'm gonna do the same. *pulls hair out*

Told you. :D Those bits made the game for me. Incredible. Great ending as well.

You should still hit 3k. Make sure to kill enemies using shockwave and shooting them in the air for double the amount of XP you gain.

Okay cool. I'm gonna try hard. I hadn't realized about the shockwave = x2 XP so I'm going back now to search for someone to abuse. :D

I think it's fairly easy to do a search for shards by dividing each island into "blocks" and search each one in a systematic fashion. Of course, that's less frustrating when you aren't near the end of the game and hunting for four or five.

Gattsu25 said:
Zero Shift reference a post above yours covers that. Unless you're talking about the Shadowrun FPS that doesn't require line-of-sight.

Yeah, FPS. I like that one a whole lot. Although admittedly there aren't too many walls to go through :( So it might not be too awesome

Okay, I have a question.

I'm on the last boss battle. But I haven't started it, however...I still haven't completely taken over the last island. It's somthing like 86% I think, but I'm all OVER the red area (which just so happens to be the area of the last boss battle, but NOTHING. No random fights, no side missions, no NOTHING. It's depressing because I really want to 100% this game, and I've come all this way for something like this to happen :lol

My question is, if I complete the last battle, does that take over the rest of the map?

I'm already searching and re-searching the city for battles to get my 3k XP for my last upgrade for THAT trophy. This is frustrating man.

EDIT: Okay, I just checked (and strangely) it says I have all districts completed, but there's still a red area. So if I complete that battle, will it convert that area and give me the trophy?

I'm still searching for XP so I'm not gonna fight yet, but I'd like to know.

The game completely froze my ps3 twice already.

I have mixed feelings about the game so far (i'm at around mission 25). Sucker Punch did a lot of things right but there are some niggles aswell. However, the end result is that i keep coming back to this game. It's rather addictive. Also, is it me or are the missions really starting to get fun and different around the middle of the game.
I'm currently doing the "shoot the flying drones" which is fun.
Hope it continues to surprise mission wise.

So far, money well spent though. Glad i bought it.

Finishing the last battle will clear 3 "hexagons" around
the blast site
.

Okay cool. That's a good thing. Now all I need to do is find a fight to get in to gain XP. It's hard in this island now. It's so desolate... ;_;

I'm at 9594XP and I need 12000 to get the last upgrade. Man, I wish they let you replay some missions.

I farm XP on the
Ray Sphere mission, the one where you climb the tower

5 shards left o_O

Ok I haz a question, there was a mission where you had to protect some girls locker from being theived and there was a kama moment, either take one as reward it steal all five or something. Being a good guy, I didn't steal them, what happens to these shards?

They disappear, but all shards earned through a reward like that don't count towards the 350.

The game loads ridiculously fast. Install justified?

IIRC it's just a 300MB install, compared to 5GB on DMC, GTAIV and Bioshock :lol

Anyways,
where's the best place to do the "Have a Nice Fall" stunt? I never see 3 guys on any roof at the same time......

FFObsessed said:
ahh ok so they're just for some exp. Makes sense, thanks.

Not exactly. They don't count towards the 350/350 trophy, but they do count towards the 280 or so that you need to fully max out your battery cores.

Shouldn't there be one shard on the first islaned where you have to use the gliding abililty to get it? Where is it? I'm not sure if I'm missing one... :(

EDIT:

You can show it on the map:

:D

I wish more games had the save analyzer feature just like Burnout Paradise where you put your save file on a USB stick, upload it to a certain website and it shows you all the things your missing, I thought it was pretty cool in Burnout.

That feature would be a godsend in this game. I hope Sucker Punch is listening to its consumers, I think this would be a popular requested feature.

Okay, I just beat it on Hero.

Here's my stats:

Reputation: Hero
Completion: 90%
Powers and Upgrades: 47
Districts: 84 of 84
Dead Drops: 32 of 32
Blast Shards: 350 of 350

what 10% am I missing? the EVIL powers?
And I still have 1 more "good" power to get while I run around in the city after the game is over. Are there any enemies left?

Missing 3 shards, don't think I am going to go and find these. Final Boss I felt was pretty good and the ending was actually not bad. Look forward to the sequel.

Question for those of you playing the Good story and who are farther along than I am.

I right near the end of the Warren section, and I just finished
climbing Alden's Tower
. At the end of the mission (and at the end of the one before it where
you have to chase down the helicopter to find John
my mission summaries came up at Evil. I didn't do anything evil during the missions. I've been playing Heroic the whole way through. In fact during the
helicopter mission, I took the hit from the gas tank thrown by the Trash Golem in order to spare the people
, yet the mission ended up with an Evil summary anyway, despite pausing to show the good action in the middle of the mission. Is this supposed to happen? I'm worried that I did something to accidentally switch the game's main story-arc from Good to Evil...

I got evil there as well, and one other further along into the game. It looks like the game determines good and evil by the good and evil tasks you are assigned to do. ie. The ones that lock other quests out.

If you want to be good, just never take an evil side mission and choose good aligned story based choices to earn the trophies. The other stuff just affects Karma which you can get back.

Well I did say Cole should have a boost power that can shoot him up in the air which will be an upgrade of the static thrusters. If anything Cole should become more stronger in the next game.

OK cool. I was just afraid that I somehow managed to switch the entire story arc. I think perhaps during the
helicopter mission
even if you take the good route mid-way through, you are going to end up with a bunch of dead civilians anyway thanks to the trash golem. That probably causes you to be evil no matter what.

Its stuff like that which irks me about this game.

I've thought about some powers that should be in the sequel.

Teleportation - works like zero-shift from zone of the enders 2

Ground shake, a more powerful version of shockwave

Boost - a variation of static thrusters but this power boosts Cole up in the air.

Magnetism - Cole can warp the magnetic field around metal objects like trash cans and cars and use them as projectiles.

Electric Clone - Cole can produce electric clones of himself to confuse enemies and an upgrade to this power is that the clones can attack enemies.

Electric Shield - a bigger shield than in the first game and an upgrade of it would cover Cole's entire body.

Speed - Cole can run faster

That's all I can come up with for now.
You like Kessler's powers don't you :D

My idea is different.

Shockwave boost- Use your legs to unleash a shockwave to send you up 1-3 stories into the air depending on your level.

Shockwave fist- shoot mini shockwaves that is more like an airborne fist.

Lightning assault- If lightning shot is compared to a pistol, then this power will be like a sub machine gun. Speed will vary on your power level.

Lightning Magnum- A 2 handed lightning blast that is slower but packs more punch then Lightning shot and will send the enemy flying depending on your level of this power.

Merging that lightning blade with melee- I don't want it to disappear I want it to be passive.

Air shockwave - Use this in the air to either travel faster or do aerial maneuvers.

Right, but they don't mesh at all with the in-game cutscenes. The characters actually look cool in the 2d scenes. Here's top hoping that Sucker Punch goes back to a more toonish style for its next game.
Ah ok, like that. Ye, the characters looks pretty cool in the 2d scenes, i agree. I think it would be interesting to see how inFamous would have looked if the graphics had a style more like the 2d scenes.

But i think that the 3d characters and the graphics the way there are now also works pretty good and i think the game feels and looks good the way it is now, but that is just my opinion :)

But ye, i agree that it would be interesting to see how inFamous would look with a graphics style that looks more like the 2d scenes. I am not sure which style i would have prefered though, since i already like inFamous the way it looks now. But as long as the gameplay feels and are the same, i guess that is the most important thing :)

This happend to me too :\ I searched every area (or so i thought) and when i searched the final area i see that i miss 1 shard. Now i must search every area again more carefully, or else i might end up not finding the last shard again.

Hopefully i will find the last shard rather quickly so i dont have to search every single area again. It would suck if i find it in the last area after searching the entire map hehe :\
Quoting myself here since i found the last shard now :) It was located in the
top right in the Neon District. I had to jump on some poles/logs that were in the water, and the shard was on the last pole/log, if anyone knows where i mean :) And to brag alittle, i found all shards without using a guide. I know that it isnt exactly hard to find the shards without a guide, but it can take some time searching for all of them at least :)

I just finished this. Great game. Interesting development at the end that sets up for the sequel nicely.

Very rough around the edges tho. The storyline developed rather abruptly and everything seemed inconclusive but I can say I will be there for the sequel, no doubt.

Despite my complaints above, make no mistake, Infamous is fucking fun and addictive.

Well if you think about it, Cole will have Kessler's powers, so its all but confirmed.
:D

I love that, lightning assault. Just like the Dust men conduits. Oh and melee with electric blades that do not disappear would be cool.

I like the idea of zero-shift teleporting, an upgrade of that would be choosing a point on a map and being able to just teleport there.

Cole is going to need another costume. :D

Just read the whole thing. Awesome comic. They could make a comic book series in my opinion.

Well time to play inFamous I need to get my plat.
Didn't notice I did most of the requirements already.

BTW, is there a place where you can find all the quotes by historical characters from the loading screens? I loved them all.
