inFAMOUS - The oFFicial Thread

I just beat the game as a hero
AND HOLY FUCKING SHIT AWESOME AT THE ENDING!!!!

Finding out that Kessler was you from the future is something I honestly didn't expect, took me by surprise and it's sad how Cole's future was happy until the red guy came around. He went back in time to ruin his friendship with Zeke and kill Trish(well what I did anyway). so that he can become a better hero. I'm pretty sure it's been done before but this is my first time seeing a storyline go in that direction.

And now this game is my runner up for the game of the generation. :D

I hope there's a sequel.
 
Anyone got a feel about how this game is being received in retail? Would be disappointed if it doesn't garner decent sales at the least.
 
damn it I want to play Infamous again and get 100% for the third time... I think I'm addicted or something, I guess I'm desperately in need of a DLC with a new island filled with missions, a couple new powers and more awesome boss battles.

Seriously? :lol The game's current LTD is something like almost 500K right? I'd be pleasantly surprised, and pleased, if it surpassed that.

Dunno about LTD, but I think it will do better at launch due to a more effective SCEA promotion. Plus, the inFAMOUS demo was very well received compared to the KZ2 one (which I'm 100% sure affected sales in a negative way).

There is a shard in the 1st island that doesn´t apper in the map because it´s in the middle of the water on top of some wood polls.

and on the 3th island the is a shard on the very top of the highest skyscraper.

This two are the tricky ones, because they don't apper in the radar if you are on the street, the rest are in usual places... :D

Infamous has the best texturing and close-up detail ever seen in a sandbox console game, some stuff in the Warren is just mind-blowing.

He was making a joke based on the fact that there is a half-naked lady behind the map. Since he's a guy, 'all the can see' is that girl.

Sadly, it appears that it's doing okay, but nothing special. My local guys said Prototype sold more in its first day than inFamous sold since launch. It's a shame because I love Sucker Punch and they created a kickass game. I'm sure it will sell more than enough to justify a sequel (only after Sly 4!) that will hopefully improve on all the small issues.

SCEA just can't catch a break. Or more accurately, they can't make their own breaks.

Anyway, I hope no one reads too much into the NPDs today, as it only has a few days of sales. The June numbers will probably be about the same as May.
 
readthe article. team of 60? in development since before crackdown was announced. good shit. I hope inFAMOUS sells. Its really one of the best games I've played in a while.
 
I just stated playing Infamous and I have to say its fantastic.

It feels "right" when you maneuver around jumping and fighting.

They really got their gameplay mechanics down nicely and I like the artwork style as well.

Two thumbs up so far.
 
I just started with the 3rd island, and the first mission is insane. I heard that once you get to this island the game basically kicks into overdrive and it seems like it right now. Before the choices you made were pretty clear cut and there wasn't too much consequence to your actions. When the choice was being explained I just said holy shit, I actually felt something which no games have really done. I knew what the right choice was to make but it was hard to do.
 
So, uh, is anyone else reminded of Pearl Krabs everytime a female civilian talks in this game?

God, this would be my first game with Platinum and probably last, I'm not a big trophy whore but this game is just so damn awesome, any excuse to keep playing it for hours on end! :D

exactly, after my first 100% hero run I planned to do a quick evil run on hard but I ended collecting all the stuff again, the best game I've played in a long long time.
 
The further i get, the more impressed and enthusiastic i am about this game. Just did the prison level.

Even the graphics, which didn't look that good on the mostly dark 1st island missions, are really impressive at times on the 2nd island. Same goes for the music. Nearly absent on the 1st island, but getting to the front more and more on the 2nd island. Same for the story.
Scaling that prison for the first time was awesome and the prison itself looked great, with the city burning in the grey misty background.

Sucker Punch definately should make a sequel. With part 1, they have built the foundation for a potentially awesome game sequel.
 
So i just left 2nd island and into 3rd. Weird thing is that I only got 97% on it and the last side mission wont appear. Any ideas wtf happen to my game? is it a glitch or wat?
 
Hmm, so I just got to the 2nd island (I'm playing slow, I know) and I am hoping I didn't mess my game up somewhat. Inside the tunnel before the boss fight I
freed the slaves in the cages
and after the boss fight it said that I had gain good karma. I'm trying to play an evil run right now. Did I somehow screw up any trophies by doing that?

Started my Hard & Evil playthrough. I love the game even more now!

I got all shards, dead drops, and stunts out of the way on my Hero playthrough. Couldn't have chosen a better path really.

Zeke died. Was he supposed to die at that part where he was hanging over the ocean? Because I didn't get a dramatic cut scene or show any sign of caring at all. I may have experienced a bug of some sort. But Zeke isn't here anymore and he hasn't been for days.
 
convince me to keep playing Gaf, im on mission 31 on my first play through on good (don't think i will replay the game), but ive lost the will to play it.
 
I am completely baffled by the hold triangle to look at a point of interest segments. Someone will come running up to me on the streets and say they were being robbed and then the triangle appears. Once you press the button the camera then zooms in directly on the back of my skull. I have absolutely no idea what they’re trying to point out to me. Is the back of head a criminal?
What’s with the so loud you’ll shit your pants news segments? I’m playing in 5.1 and out of nowhere the voice of god will just start screaming local news out of various and seemingly random speakers. I can’t get away from it.

He's standing by Cole after Kessler died so he lived but Cole just left him there. Cole also mentions Zeke in the good afterward.

LOL man I'm having the same issue. Playing on my home theater in 5.1 DTS and everything sounds fantastic (including the Sucker Punch logo at the start that has the hearty bass hit), but the news casts are crazy loud for no good reason.

Thanks sir! I'm playing on Hard, being evil, for my first play through, trying to get all shards and stunts outta the way, didn't want to get to the end and find out I couldn't get the max evil trophy or something.

PS3 owners don't buy games.
 
Things just got crazier on the evil side missions. You should definitely check out the other side if you enjoy your first play through. The cut scenes and abilities / destruction differ greatly.
 
Well, the game has truly become infamous, because it has claimed the life of my DS3 :lol

I could feel the right analog stick going bad for a while and the buttons getting wonky, and when Kessler does his shockwave move Cole would frequently not jump when he wanted and that resulted in a rather more difficult Kessler fight than I was used to. Sooooo . . . I got a bit . . . frustrated . . . and did something I haven't done since middle school that finished the job on the DS3 :D

Ah well, I needed an excuse to get a new one and pick up either Dead Space or Sacred 2 in the process, still haven't decided which though.

Now, just to finish the stunts for the platinum on inFamous.

One complaint I had with the game... unless I missed it somehow, there are absolutely no fucking sound options.

My monitor's volume was on 1/100, and my headphones sounded dangerously loud.
 
so I had the game freeze on me last night. It was towards the end. Since I don't know how to do spoiler text, it was during the part where things from the Movie UP appeared. I was doing something to these things from UP and it locked up.
 
You know, I bought my PS3 as a BR player at launch and I only own 1 PS3 game (MotoStorm). Everything else has been rental only. I think I'll pick this game up next week. :D I just hate having to buy a DS3 too. :(
