inFAMOUS - The oFFicial Thread

There are missions where you have to do something like rescue someone and in return they'll give you blast shards. If they only give you one when they have five, does that take away from you collecting all of them? Or do you just have to collect all of the ones that are around Empire City?

AHHH!! I just got the sexiest kill!
I saw three reapers robbing some guy so I jump off a building and throw a grenade at them. It bounces off the wall, and sticks to one of the reapers, and kills all three of them. Didn't even touch the innocent guy! :lol

FINALLY, got all shards, dead drops and stunts. Feel like a manly man now.

Alright, this is my own interpolation of the # of shards on each island:

  • Island 1: 147 shards
  • Island 2: 135 shards
  • Island 3: 68 shards

I first got 145 shards on island 1 before moving on, but I was stumped to see I didn't get them all. I hope the above distribution is correct.

It'll be worth OVER 9000% once he charges it with electricity :lol

Anyway, took a few more screens. Someone mentioned the texture work, which I agree is stellar for the game. If only the anisotropic filtering extended further.

uh i played a bit and the game feels like its not running smooth? Is that a known issue? Or do i have to switch my ps3 from 180p to 720 for that?

cheers

It doesn't support 1080p. If you have 720p disabled then it's running at 480p.

Actually I think BeeDog is right with:
147
135
68

I currently have 146 on Island 1, and I can tell you that there are no more to find other than the one on the pier (which I can't get yet due to no thrusters). So unless there are 3 shards that you get as part of a mission/s (I've done 2 secret package missions already), there are 147 on island 1.

I have a problem. There are not any side missions left for me to do, but thee are still spots that are not freed. What do I have to do?

Some one else mentioned that when this happens either the person who gives mission was killed, if that's the case save and reload and they should be back or it's a hidden package mission which requires you to kill enemies in the area until one activates the mission. You have to completely kill them, not just incapacitate them.

Try to find bad guys to fight, they might have hidden package missions which fill out the rest of the map

Some of the side missions aren't available until you've progressed in the main storyline. There were three little pockets on Neon City I had that weren't freed until I did the water tower quest - which makes sense, since the side mission for them was essentially another water tower hunt.

about the ending:
I wonder if the super powerful guy in the future is actually John. It hasn't been explained what happened to John after he got sucked into the ray sphere.
Maybe but
I would think that if John was that important they would have given him a character skin other then the "black pedestrian"

YES!! Just nailed the 'Right back at ya' stunt. Now I'm on my final one - Crowd Control. Now I'm worried, I honestly don't know where I'm going to find 5 enemies close together!

Get into a street fight, or something that throws a chunk of enemies at you, and then get them to follow you down an alley. I got something like seven at once doing that in one of the street fight missions.

The gamespot guide provides the details on how many shards there are per island, but i'm willing to expect they could be wrong there.

Apologies if so.

Just started the demo again and nope...it's exactly the same to me. Hovering around 30FPS, sometimes a bit less, sometimes a bit more.

I really like when a civilians runs up and says "Cole you need to save this guy." and points out downed person. It's a really nice touch.

Also, I saw a person standing over a dead body backing away saying, "It's not what it seems it's not what it seems."

Yeah it's pretty sweet.

When you're evil they throw rocks at you and try to overcome you. It's funny having a group of pedestrians coming after you. :lol
My trusty lightning storm took care of them, though. :D

Heh its kind of interesting comparing infamous and crackdown. It wasn't that obvious why crackdown had giant icons floating over the head of every enemy until playing infamous. I guess another solution to that would be to have a contrasting color with the environment.

They throw rocks at my enemies and they can actual take them down if you let them.

Just finished the game, fucking awesome! The ending was sweet, although a bit annoying that it ends with (minor spoilers)
a cliffhanger
, and the end boss fight itself was cool. Hopefully a sequel will come.

<3 this game, worth every single penny. Been a while since I've liked a PS3 game so much.

Finally pulled off the "Have a Nice Fall" stunt last night. After that I seemed to just unlock one after another. "Air Sticky" was probably the hardest because I'm at Outlaw and don't have the float power with Shockwave. Just made it to the Warren and only have the one with Lightning Storm left.

Can someone who has Platinum give any advice for the Casey Jones trophy? The only strategy I can think of it to die on purpose during the train side missions until it unlocks.

Also, love the Gigawatt Blades. The slow-mo camera makes for a stylish way to finish off huge encounters.

Being a hero is pretty awesome. One major thing I've noticed which I think is astounding is sometimes the pedestrians will go "Hey Cole!, look at this!" and try to jump or climb like me and then fall down and I have to shock them back to life :lol :lol

Yes, keep dying on the train missions (the El Train side mission on island 2 helps a lot). Use slowmo sniping, then jump into the water. Rinse and repeat.

Also, a question regarding the Hard trophy: when in the game does it ask you if you want to bump up the difficulty to Hard? I wanna take it the secure way and let the game bump it the difficulty up for me before continuing.

Usually after the first encounter with the Reapers at the food drop. What I did was change the difficulty of my first save after I finished the main story. The new game will carry over the options from the old save.

Ugh. Don't tell me that. It kills me that I'm missing out on a power.
You're not missing out on much. I whored them for the "Up Close and Personal" stunt but that's about it. They're usually not worth using until you've cleaned out the majority of a fight.

Do any of the later missions in the Historic District present a lot of enemies up high so I can farm High Fall takedowns? Right now the only parts of the game with enemies left don't present me many options. I really wish they had included an advanced stat tracking page. It seems like such a simple oversight when they thought of so many other things.

Is there a mission that forces you to be evil?

I just finished the mission where you get to John and you follow the choppper....got to the boss and I let the barrel explode on me (good act)...I died a few times but the part with the good/bad act doesnt get replayed. I killed the boss, beat the mission and then it said my acts made me a little more evil....huh? Will this affect any trophies if I'm going for all good?

I have a question about the Stunt "have a nice fall" (take down 3 enemies simultaneously off a roof with Shockwave). I did the dark water mission and there are two separate rooftops with 3 or more enemies on them. I did the shockwave and sent 3 enemies flying on both rooftops but I didnt get the stunt for either. Is there something im missing here? I spent forever trying to do this. Both times I did it, two enemies were killed slightly earlier than the third so it would say 2in1 bonus...than the third would register and say 3x high fall. Maybe its suppose to say 3in1 bonus?

You probably just killed a couple of civilians or something...that happened to me several time on my hero playthrough but I still got all of the good trophies

I'm quite enjoying being evil. I see my character as the guy who mistrusts police, thinks the people are weak, and loves killing bad guys.

Btw, I have a question: when you do live capture and then execution, are you getting more evil karma, or is it cancelling it out?

So is there any way to get decent XP after beating all the missions? Accidentally saved over the file I wanted to load and now all I have is my Aftermath save :(

Anyone? Or am I screwed?

I got that one by chucking a ridiculous amount of grenades at those spider things.

Man that "Anything for Trish" mission was intense, but the best way to beat it
is to jump off the bus the moment you see enemies on the radar and take them out and if there any road blocks jump off the bus before it arrives there take out the road blocks (because the enemies won't spawn if the bus does not read a certain point). I took care of the dust men and reapers easily on the bridge, just stop the bus before the bridge when you see reapers running to the bridge. Jump down and shoot the reapers in the back then take care of the dust men and road block.

cool mission, that was. died 3-4 times on the bus part, a little bit more for the hospital climb. now that i think about it, i should have farmed some orbs in that mission.

That's what GameFAQs says but it's definitely wrong. There are 147 on the first island (although one of them can't be reached until you've unlocked the second island and acquired a new power there). There may even be more if there are more than 2 hidden package missions on the 1st island. But I suspect that it's 147 exactly. BeeDogs numbers seem like the most likely in that instance:

147
135
68

One interesting thing to note on the Right Back At Ya stunt (deflect their grenade back onto them): I got it by shockwaving a regular reaper before he'd even thrown a grenade at me (as far as I could tell): he merely pulled it out right as I shockwaved him against an alley wall, and he dropped it and blew himself up. That might be a technique to try if you're struggling with it.

Any tips for Up Close & Personal (3 straight melee takedowns) for someone who doesn't have the Gigawatt Blades? I guess one of the dark water missions would have been best because the enemies can't run away on a small roof, but that ship has already sailed. Any other good opportunities? Whenever I run towards the second and third enemies they run away as fast as they can and it takes me forever to catch up to them.

Question: How awesome are the Red Powers?

I'm a champion right now, but I'm getting pissed by these reapers shooting me from the distant. I want to make them suffer.

I heard from Listen Up, Hero has a homing power?

Hero has an upgrade to the Megawatt Hammer that makes all the electroballs that you shoot out fly towards the enemy you tag with the standard attack. Essentially you can unload 15+ balls into the air, then attack an enemy with the basic attack and make all the balls fly straight toward him. How awesome? So awesome.

The third island seems noticeably smaller than the other two. Does that also mean it contains fewer story and side missions?

And the arc lightning power is fucking awesome, even at its first level (the evil version). Lucasarts, pay attention.

Trying to get that stunt where you kill 5 guys using melee in under 30 seconds. But finding 5 guys together is pretty hard when I cleared up 100% of all 3 islands :(

I'm gonna sue Sucker Punch. Seriously. This game is too addictive, it should be sold by that shady geezer down at the corner, not every gamestore in town!
