Do the shards you go around collecting actually provide anything for your character (like agility orbs in Crackdown), or are they just for OCD people (like GTA pigeons)?

They unlock more energy slots, allowing you to use the powers more often before having to recharge.

The endboss is really kicking me...
now past the first checpoint but don't really have a strategy, just hitting him we he does the bigger attacks...

I think that's pretty much all you can do.
Dodge everything and then spam him with megawatt hammers when he's tired.

Stupid question, how do you access the stunt list? As far as I can see, the pause menu only lists 1 at the bottom.
It's not a stupid question, just a stupid design implementation. You can't access a stunt list. :-/

Does anyone know why I don't get High Fall Stunts anymore? Is my shockwave to powerfull?
I think that the fall has to kill them to register as a high fall. By the end of the game, enemies are usually so strong that they survive the fall (or they die from the blow that knocks them off in the first place).

Need help on the Warren regarding a
satellite uplink mission
.

It's the one where you have to traverse through
three uplinks, and the final one is on a building that has no electric line to slide to and the building is built like a grid making parkour impossible in a 7 second span. There is a set of electrical lines that go next to it, but jumping off that has you landing on the building in the bottom quarter of its height. I saw a crane that can be shot and it will extend it's cable so you can jump to it. I just cannot hit that and get it to release in the time it takes to grind next to it. Do broken towers and crane cables persist? Can I go around and cause them all to break and then come back and hope it is there when I zip by?

I think I ended up
going along the power cable that travels on the right-hand side of the last building and just climbing the last bit. Just make sure you nail the first part so you have as much time left as possible for climbing. It's doable without cranes.

Being a good guy is tough.

The enemies are running around like terrorists with a bunch of innocents and vehicles near them... And you have to hold back to pick them off. Even melee gets tough if you aren't careful because you can punch out an innocent by mistake.

You have enough power to decimate the area but those poor innocent people would get caught up in the attack.

But some of the good upgrades are more useful than their evil versions.
It's hard to live without my megawatt hammer aiming system. Used to aim it over their heads then tag them with a lightning bolt. Always got a great angle and high hit rate. Was especially useful for those floating grenade things in historic district (always a one-hit kill on Normal if you could tag them). It also lead to a great moment in the final boss battle where I'd tagged Kessler right before he teleported and my stream of megawatt hammers was flying around the entire battlefield chasing him.

Any hints on
climbing a grid building without jumping into the alcoves? I always seem to end up on the interior
Yeah that's one of the annoying times when the climbing mechanic gets in it's own way. Some of the balconied buildings in the Warren and a few in the Historic are maddening if you're in a hurry. Part of it is intentional I'm sure (can't have all the buildings a breeze to zip up, and it's similar to how some higher buildings in the neon have few handholds) but it's just annoying to constantly end up 'inside' a building instead of climbing up it.

Only advice I have is to spend a second looking for drains and those small railings that run right up the sides, it saves time to run a bit more and hit the drain that goes half way up rather than get annoyed by the little nooks and crannies. Getting a good 'double jump' timing going also helps, if you nail the proper rhythm Cole will jump up and then do the little hop up to the next balcony without jumping inside.

349/350 and I've checked all the usual hidden spots - are there any other shards vertically hidden like the one at the top of the tall crooked building near ground zero? Any others you couldn't see until you were at the right height?

The prison has one at the top.

For some reason I cannot upgrade my overload burst to level 3. It says unavailable. I have completed 15 good missions and have rank of hero. I have finished the game too. Anyone have any help on this?

I think I had that problem too, but I hadn't upgraded to level 2, maybe try that?

Did you use those maps from WikiCheats? They're missing at least one shard in the Warren, I posted the location on the last page (http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=16309511&postcount=5669)

Are there no Sucker Punch developers on GAF? I'm sure they will enjoy reading this thread and how so many people have appreciated their game.

I got the Platinum Trophy today. :D Such a great game. And while the trophies were a real challenge, they were fun and easy enough to obtain. That's how I like them.

I really hope we see a sequel soon. The ending was amazing.

Finally found that last shard(it was in Warren behind some laundry that was hung to dry).. now all I need is 2000 exp and I got another platinum :D

So fuckin' maddening. I know I'm getting the stunts because they're flashing onscreen but my "stunts completed" still reads 17 of 21.

Is this happening to anyone else or am I just losing my mind?

Well what is Stunt #18 and have you done it?

bigdaddygamebot said:
They aren't in numerical order are they?

Like...I don't get credit for stunt #20 until I do stunt #17???

I thought it just gave you a total of the stunts done?

Whatever shows up on the Pause screen is a stunt you have not yet completed. So you could very well finish that stunt and be done.

Just got my last 2 shards, they were in Neon hiding!!! Off the shore, the "Blue" circles just mixed in with the water on my HDTV (saturation maybe? Who knows, BAH). either way, I went around the coast MULTIPLE times before I noticed...shame!

It tells you what unperformed stunt is next in order. You still get credits for later numbered stunts, but it won't update until you do the stunt it shows you.

Holy shit...that's crazy.

Awesome, but crazy.

Thanks. Now I got some playing to do.

Game froze for the first time tonight. I've heard other complain about bugs and crashes but it didn't happen to me my entire first play through. It was during the first mission where you shoot down the planes (right after getting the rockets), one of them crashed into me while it was falling and landed half way on a rooftop overhang, when I pressed Triangle to "Use" it the whole system locked up. It was the last plane to so hopefully it didn't crash while autosaving and corrupt my evil play through.

Speaking of evil play through I'm digging the powers, I really liked how the good side powers worked but while I miss the lock-on rockets the new super multi-rocket is pretty hot in it's own right.

Hey guys I need some help with this game...

The red baron tophy, where do I find 100 flying enemies!? DO those flying robots count? Whetre cna I get more of them?

I can't do the grenade stunt. It's the last one I need and I cannot find a single grenade launching guy, only those flying robots but they dodge the grenades very fast.

Arghhhh wht about the get 25 kills while on a train(Casey Jones) doe sit mean all 25 at once or over the lifetime of the playthrough? Where's the ebst place to do this?

This is making me pull my hair x_x

You do realise that's not what they mean by flying enemies, right?

“Red Baron: Blast enemies into the air and kill or take them down while they’re in-air. Do 100 of these and you’ve unlocked this trophy."

Ah just force push them in the air and shoot them down before they hit the ground.

I'm struggling with the Casey Jones trophy at the moment. I still have to activate the train in the Historic District on this playthrough, I assume I'm best to just abuse that mission?

I just road the train past that little prison/base in the Warren which has a turrent at the front (next to the road with nothing but car wrecks scattered on it) /threw shit tons of grenades+precision shot then jumped on the passing train to ride past it again and throw shit tons of grenades+precision shot, rinse, repeat until I got the trophy :lol

I don't that will help though if your upto Historic District unless you haven't done the side mission to close off that bit of territory

alright so what's the strategy on getting all the shards? Is there some way to keep track of how many you have? And where you have that amount?

Just finished the good playthrough, damned hot game. Don't really see the whole OMG the ending deal, but hey. About the story, may not need spoilers but whatever:

The story was engaging enough, but I felt a bit of a disconnect with it once it shifted from immediate issues to possibly world spanning developments, didn't seem in tune with the game. Well, until the end at least.

Can't wait for the next one.

No no, being a bad guy is tough.

Cause the last good guy lightning upgrade refills your energy bar when you hit something. This makes those dustmen conduits SO MUCH EASIER to deal with.

Look in your save game. The number of shards you have found vs. the total amount.

And no, there is no way to know which shards you've gotten already.

Yeah, the evil upgrades, while fun, definitely make the game harder for me.

I'm 100% done on both the first and second islands. :(

Being evil is also choosing to be weaker also. Good powers are precise and powerful, while being evil is weaker yet has a larger destruction radius.

Only on the good upgrade track. You fire it off, then when it's in the air hit your target with a standard bolt and the rocket tracks to that location.

If good, yes. You were missing out, man. Missing out.

You never read the upgrade descriptions before you purchased them?
