inFAMOUS - The oFFicial Thread

I love the game, but I'm missing two districts because there are no side missions in them. What gives? Do I need to get all the upgrades? I'm missing one. Got all the dead drops, missing a bunch of shards.

Jump in the water, die. Respawn and head over to the district you still need. You're looking for a gang member spawn that you fight and then glows once he's dead. Once he's glowing, he's an active mission that you need to go over to and activate.

Just kill a few enemies in the still hostile districts till one of the dead bodies has a mission icon on him.

Edit: Beaten - I'm well into my 2nd playthrough. Hard difficulty is not that hard in this game, which I like a lot.

I didn't have to kill 25 enemies in one run for the Casey Jones trophy.

I hopped on a moving train and killed 4 enemies---> trophy popped up.

Loudninja said:
You must have killed others before on the train.

Not during that ride. I only killed 3 or 4 enemies on the trophy ride.

I thought you had to kill 25 enemies during one ride. But it seems not...
All the moving train kills seem be cummulative until you get the trophy.

Damn it, that was too obvious. :P Thanks.

Finally finished my "good" playthrough last night. The ending was just as badass as you guys were hyping, which pleased me. The goddamn last shard I'm missing is pissing me off though. I checked all the usual sites that don't show up on the radar, but somehow one slipped through the cracks. I'm not sure if I have the patience to print off a 2nd shard map and go through each block again.

Aren't you that guy that stomps into every prototype-thread, explaining how bad this game seems to be from two or three reviews that didn't like it, without ever touching it yourself?

;)

Well to be fair, Prototype didn't have a demo, it doesn't make sense for anyone to buy or even rent the game just to find out he doesn't like it when there's no demo and basically the reviews are trending worse.

I think we've pretty much established that Infamous is a great game, there are always going to be outliers in terms of reviews and some reviews are always going to be ridiculous for one reason or another. >:|

Just use your radar.

Well clearly.... I wouldn't have gotten all but one shard without the radar. I know it's there somewhere, but I'm not sure if my OCD will overtake my desire to start up Ghostbusters.

If you have one left you might as well look for it, I was in the same position, it's kind of satisfying to get that trophy and it didn't take all that long, try some of the piers, usually those are the ones that people tend to overlook.

It took me a while to get the last shard. It was hiding under a side mission logo on the map in the Historic Park ...

I must say playing as evil is pretty fun. I've only played it for a little bit but the amount of destruction you can cause is so cool looking.

Regarding stunts... on my pause screen its telling me to do a certain stunt. If i do a stunt that i HAVENT got yet, that ISNT the one on my pause screen, will the game still register it as completed so i dont have to do it again?

Yes

Wait for the final boss.. it played like a Ninja Gaiden type boss battle for me. Once I got the pattern down he was a piece of cake though.

I've done all the side missions (districts) on hard difficulty and I just realised that I'm missing 10 000 xp for upgrading my final power and get my Plat. But now, I realised that I've should put EASY difficulty to earn more XP because now, I can only get xp by healing pedestrians or fighting the very random and few enemies...

I'm pretty much screwed because if I gain 3xp per healing, I need 3333 healing to reach 10 000 xp... (9999)

Thats allot of points, it might be easier to start a new save on easy and just upgrade the powers only. But if you want to do it on the same save(like I did) then put it to easy, and try to do stunts while killing the enemies to boost up your exp. For example use precision while grinding and get headshots. Heal anyone you see on the floor.. force push then zap them before they fall and it should take a couple of hours. I also found that sometimes when you get those suicide bombers if you follow where they came from it sometimes leads to an ambush.

yea, he's not too tough on Hard, especially compared to NG bosses.

Finally beat the game on Good, damn that was a BITCH. I got all the area taken over when beating the boss. Thanks. I got 9 trophies to go and I can easily do all of those on this evil playthrough. Nothing stands a chance against EVIL COLE!

Must say the the historic district story missions are really great. Particularly the first. Got a Spider-Man vibe from it. I'm also enjoying the storm ability though I would have liked to control it with the stick.

Holy shit Infamous is the most repetitive game ever. I'm on the 3rd island now I feel like I've done it all before. BTW I got the game free from a friend :lol

You mentioned this a while back, why repeat it? Didn't you say you paid for it? :lol

Yes I just picked up Infamous for cheap. Playing through the first island now. Holy shit it's repetitive! My friend insists I keep at it.

I'm on the second island now and my morality indicator has been stuck in the 'outlaw' section forever. It doesn't budge, even after I do evil missions or leech people. is this normal or is this a bug? the only reason i can think of is that the game doesn't allow me access to the highest level powers yet.

It's normal.

You'll understand in due time :D

So anybody know what the deal is with save files stating 96% even though you have everything.
Did you finish the game twice and get the platinum trophy? It seems you need a good and evil playthrough, with at least one of them being hard to get 100%. I was at 90% at the end of my first game (Good, normal) after having done everything, and pretty much stayed there until after I beat the final boss on my hard, Evil second playthrough.

Finished my good playthrough. Ending spoiler discussion:
Is it sad that I assumed out Kessler = Cole by noticing that the guy was old and bald and his glove had blue electricity? You know since Infamous uses blue for good and red for evil. What kind of villain would be blue then!? lol

Nah, you'll be all right. I've cleared everything and yet needed 11k XP. I'm almost done. Of course it takes a lot of time.
Roam around the hospital on Warren island, there's usually a lot of wounded people (don't forget the ones in the clinic too), a lot of ennemies spawn there (and you don't even have to die to make them respawn) right in front of the hospital, and there are also a couple of turrets that you can disable. Don't waste your time on the historic district. Ennemies give a little more XP but are far more sparse. Neon's xp is crap, too.

349/350...AGHHHHH.

Welcome to my wooorld. I spent almost 5 hours hunting for the last one. Which was somewhat bugged. I walked across its spot, spamming L3, several times, but it never showed up. Last time I walked past it, a couple of ennemies spawned so I walked back to them. For some reason the shard eventually appeared on my radar.

Anyway Suckerpunch should have put more time in putting more variety in the missions.

Man are you fucking retarded? Id hate to see what you think of GTA IV and Assassins Creed. I havent seen this much mission variety in damn near any game I have ever played. Theres a fuckton of different mission types, and a million ways to play them. Ergh. Just...Ignore list from now on. Thats that.

And don't forget that doing stunts nets you XP. In my evil playthrough I sticky-bombed civilians who threw rocks at me. The game recognizes them as enemies and gives 10XP every time (more on easy, I guess). Still took a few hours to make up the final 9k, but you can spam the rocket guy on the airplane wing in Warren for 21XP + stunt XP every time. Sticky bombing the trash monsters works wonders, too. If you're good at riding the rails you can get the Unquenchable Thirst stunt for 7XP, though that typically took me three or four failures in a row before I'd get it right, which wasn't the best use of my time.

I think someone should make a post about where each one of us found his last shard.
It might be helpful.

Mine was here:
qot75v.gif

mine was next to yours at the very top of the tall leaning historic building (it doesn't show up on radar until you get up near it)

Found it. Northwest corner of the Warren. Of course, the last place I looked. :lol

And yeah, anyone having trouble with their last few shards, I can't stress enough how important it is to super-ultra-double-check every one on the coasts. Can't believe how unbelievably easy it is to miss any of those.

Mine was in the park on top of a rock in the History district.

That best way to look for these shards is to take over territory than search the territory you took.Thats why I did not have any problems finding them.

Just got that Rockhound Trophy and starting an evil playthrough.
Don't know if this has been mentioned but...
After you escape ground zero, you collapse and are unconscious for a while. Cole then tells you that Zeke was always there, somehow sure that you'd pull through. Obviously this could be put down to his attitude in general, but it could it also meant that he knew what was going on?
