Information about contacting celebrities..

Can anyone help me out? I'm trying to contact a few celebrities (most notably Will Ferrell and Jennifer Garner) about something (that I know is a longshot anyways, but might as well try), and I'm having some difficulties finding current address information for them. I'd rather not have to pay anything for it, as well. So does anyone know any contact info for the two I listed above or a website I could check out? Snail mail addresses, email, anything will do. Agent info. Whatever.

^^^ I realize that, thanks for the valuable info. :lol It's worth trying anyways, though. So.. anyone with actual information that could help?

A friend of a friend once asked John Cleese, via e-mail, to support his slacker lifestyle for $200/week, and in exchange he would e-mail John Cleese a daily e-mail journal. He continued sending the daily journals for about a year, hoping that Mr. Cleese, being the kind of guy he is, would decide to give the guy money to do nothing. It never happened. I don't think Will Ferrel or Jennifer Garner would do it either.

You are not one of those people who really think that they "need" your info and ideas, are you?

Certainly not. It has nothing to do with that. I'm not a crazy obsessed fan of either, although I do like both of them and their work.

^^^ To the guy above, yeah, I thought about that, but I believe it does cost some money so.. eh.. don't know if it's worth it.. ;) Is anyone here already signed up for that service perhaps?

Alright. To surprise my fiancee at our wedding later this year, I am trying to contact a few of her favorite celebrities to see if they would come. I know there's nearly a zero percent chance (or IS a zero percent chance, whatever :) ) anyone would come (except maybe Ellen Degeneres, she's always going to crazy things on her show), but I feel it's worth trying, and making one hell of a surprise for her.

It's a nice idea, but you'd have to front loads of money to make most celebrities even think about doing a personal appearance.

^^^ Hey, I'm not offended. It is laugh worthy, I know. :lol But it's worth it for me to try just so if it would actually happen (which it won't), I could see the expression on her face when she realizes who is sitting out in the crowd.

That's nice that you want to do something cool for your fiancee, but you should probably come back to reality. Unless your fiancee is a famous celeb who has worked with these people, you aren't going to get them to come to your wedding. You just aren't. It doesn't matter how cool you are or how much of a fan your fiancee is.

I do realize that, but maybe someone would want to be nice and do it for free or relatively little money. ;) Don't you agree it's worth a try though?

Be advised that in the smallest chance that someone says yes, you're not only inviting them, but the paparazzi that follow them. I'm not sure if you want that kind of party crasher.

I believe I already am back in reality. Like I stated before, I know the chances are so so so very slim, but I don't think it's a lost cause to just try, do you?

Yeah, I've thought about that as well. I'll have to hire bouncers at my wedding. Hahaha! ;)

No it is not worth a try. If you even get as far as a secretary at their agent's office you won't get any further. They will throw your message in the garbage (if they even bother to write it down to begin with). Your best bet at this point is to hire a celebrity impersonator, and they won't come to your wedding for free either unless you're personal friends with them.

Celebrity impersonator? Hmm.. maybe I'll just get Darrell Hammond from SNL then.. or Ferrell.. heh.. just kidding.. :)

Well, the other thing... isn't your wedding day about you two? Would you want all of your guests to be too busy ogling the celebs to care about your happiness and joy? Or, do you want your fiancee excited about the celebrities that are there or excited that she's about to spend the rest of her life with you? It's a nice thought, but don't waste your time. Unless you're in the biz, are somehow connected to them, or have a terminal illness and could go through Make-A-Wish, your request will fall on deaf ears.

I was worried about that when I had first thought up the idea. Too much attention on them. Then I looked at our guest list, and realized, out of the 150 people that are going to be there, probably no more than 20 or so will even recognize Ferrell or Garner at all. Nearly all the guests are older family members.

I agree, our wedding day is about us, and that's how it should be. And I don't think having a celeb there would actually change that. It would make the day more exciting in the way that you look back ten years from now and say "Holy shit.. do you remember when we got married? Wasn't that great? And look! I have a picture of Will Ferrell as well standing with us! That was a great day!". I know my fiancee extremely well, and I know she wouldn't be so focused on the celebrity that she would lose focus on our big day. :) It means very much to both of us, and nothing could change that. Not even if the entire crowd was made up of celebrities.

And I also agree with what you said. I know it's going to fall on deaf ears. I know there's no chance. But I'm still going to try! I WILL PREVAIL! *

* Just kidding. :D

Yeah, I think you're a bit crazy, or at least naive.

The real question that needs to be asked: Do you really think it's a good idea to marry someone that is a huge Jennifer Garner fan?

Yes, I believe it is. You know why? Cause Alias rocks! And Daredevil's pretty good as well. ;)

"I say you just make life-size cardboard cut-outs and enjoy."

"Maybe you should just print out this thread and hand her a copy at the wedding...?"

Both very valid(and quite humorous) comments, I'll perhaps do both of them. :lol

Just looked up his name. I watched my first episode of SBTB a couple weeks ago. What can I say?

Hmm.. for some reason, I don't think my fiancee would be quite impressed if the principal from Saved by the Bell was at our wedding. Actually, she'd be more confused, that's for sure. :lol

you might be able to hire some out of work c-list types, but the people you're talking about will need like 20 mil just to fart within a mile of you. your only hope is for your fiancee to get terminal cancer and make the request through the make a wish foundation or similar (note that fake cancer could work too, but only if she's a really good actress).

Make sure you wait until it's a done deal though.

In all seriousness, the chance of a celebrity showing up for your wedding isn't just slim...it's ZERO. There is absolutely no way such a thing would happen. Honestly, don't you figure these people are probably pretty busy? Or, even if they aren't, do you really think they'd go to the trouble of traveling to attend the wedding of someone they don't even know just so you can look at pictures in twenty years? I don't mean to be rude but this is just absolutely absurd.
