Injustice 2 Roster Discussion & Speculation Thread

Bane looks so goofy. It's such as serious design but paired with ridiculous luchador poses and moves. It's strange that they didn't stick with a more wrestler-like outfit as the default.

Captain Cold looks cool as hell. That grab is amazing.

Cold's design sucks (called that months ago), but he looks really fun. A lot of personality in those moves. And Superman killed the Rogues and Golden Glider? Congrats buddy, you just pissed off one of the most competent villains around.

Scarecrow's design in motion I actually quite like? There's a lot of ways to interpret the character and I think this was a pretty successful unique but recognizable look.

I really can't say I'm concerned about all the bad designs since you can completely change them in the game.

There's at least a couple of options everybody is gonna love for each character, which is awesome. And on top of that, the color schemes, which can radically change the looks.

Fun times ahead.

Yeah, Superman done fucked up in that regard. Though I'm a bit surprised that Snart didn't go to Barry first, given their mutual respect for one another & the fact that Barry turned on Superman near the end of the first game (unless Snart resents Barry for joining Superman in the first place).

Cold would respond to this kind of transgression with a lethal response. I don't think he's content to simply take down Superman with Barry, he's going to try (and fail obviously) to kill him. Superman crossed the line, hard.

Can anyone tell me some info on captain cold? You guys are hyping him up to be top tier in villains and I'd love to know why.

Only exposure I have of him is in the flash tv show.

He's full of swag.

He's a great team leader.

He's a strong planner and very competent criminal.

He doesn't kill women or children. He doesn't kill unless you cross a line.

He has mutual respect with The Flash because they both play by certain rules.

He'll steal from Central City, but rarely wants to destroy it and will protect his home if necessary.

He has power over Absolute Zero. What this actually means varies drastically, but basically he's the coldest of the ice villains if he needs to be.

Basically just a really cool character that's quite different to the usual "take over the world!" supervillain.

Dammit, you beat me to it.

That said, I kinda wish that Captain Cold had the weapons of some of the other Rogues since one of the rules of the Rogues is that they take the gear of a fallen Rogue on one final crime spree to honor them (& Superman killed all of the other Rogues).

I'm glad he doesn't. I'd rather he be an "ice character" than an unfocused hodgepodge. Has Captain Cold actually used any of the other Rogues' weapons in the comics before? It seems out of character given how cold-obsessed he is.

the last character slot is for Joker isn't it
Yup, as foretold by the leak.

It's the code of honor for the Rogues to use the weapons of fallen Rogues one last time, & Captain Cold is the leader (& upholds the Rogues code to the letter).

I hate when villains have this policy. Deadshot also says he doesn't kill women or children like that somehow makes him a decent person. Like, if he is hired to kill a well adjusted and good family man that's OK with him, but if he has to kill a woman, no matter how corrupt they are, he's gonna be like "Nah man, that's too far". That isn't morality, that's bullshit chivalry. If you get paid to hurt/kill/steal from people, you're a piece of shit either way, don't try and be fake about it with this inane gender code.

The rogues don't kill period unless necessary or you slight them in a terrible way and it's because of captain cold's moral compass. He wants the rogues to be a better breed of villains.

Captain Cold is my favorite DC villain and one of the best they have.

Oh that's cool. I've always sort of respected Cold. Deadshot though, pisses me off to no end. He's a guy who makes money killing people, but we're supposed to feel sad that his daughter doesn't wuv him? Please. Code or not, Deadshot is a thin character who doesn't make a whole lot of sense. If he really, truly cared about his kid he would either quit being an assassin or let someone else raise her. He can't be in her life if he's a killer, you can't do both Floyd!

The Rogues are crooks sure, but they're crooks with class. Kinda dumb that the Regime slaughtered them all. Hopefully that means Snart at least gets a chapter to himself where you get to make a run at revenge against the Regime.

Actually it was Bizarro that killed the Rogues.

So who are you guys interested in maining once the game drops?

Poison Ivy is a lock for me.

For a secondary, I might go towards Dr. Fate or Green Arrow but now Captain Cold also looks dope.

I said before MKX came out that I'd co-main Cassie and Sonya and I stuck with them the whole run. I will co-main Superman and Captain Cold as they are my favorite Superhero and DC villain respectively.

I played enough supergirl to get her to max level twice during the beta after levels reset so I think i'll be sticking to her (especially since we're getting a Power Girl skin!) But there's a good chance they'll kinda destroy her with changes before the game releases since she was a little too good. Who knows. I also wanna try out Firestorm and Robin.

Grodd and Cheetah. Grodd for the big body, and Cheetah for the rushdown grappler.

NRS does make really fun characters with fun mechanics, so I might end up maining completely different characters. I'm also interested in Robin, Scarecrow, Bane, Swamp Thing, and whatever DLC they end up making.

Black Canary, most likely. Captain Cold and Cheetah look fun though, and I want to get good as Robin in case there's a Dick and/or Nightwing premier skin.

When I played the first IJ, I was certain that Nightwing or Catwoman would be my main, but Ares actually ended up being my most played character! I've played as Black Canary quite a bit already and feel comfortable with her, but I won't know for certain until I've tried my hands at each character.

Playing Injustice 1 now on PS4 (or at least trying to, can't find a match) and realizing just how much more I'm liking the I2 roster. Too many awesome characters to choose from. I really hope I can get good enough to start competing this year :(. From what I've seen, Robin will be my Numero Uno and possibly Scarecrow second. Or Captain Cold second. Fuck, too many choices.

So wait how many base game characters are there? I'm just curious if it's 30 because that would be insanely huge!

At launch, there will be a total of 29 characters. One of those 29 is Darkseid, who is a pre-order/Day 1 copy exclusive.

Out of those 29, 28 have already been announced. There is only one character remaining to be announced, and we know that it's Joker due to a leak that happened late last year from the mobile game development team that confirmed the starting roster.

The leak also mentioned Dr. Freeze but it's commonly being believed that he's either a premium skin or a mobile game exclusive.

There are also 9 DLC characters to come (that they've announced so far, there might even be more in the future!).

No idea who I am gonna play, goo many badass characters. Will be roaming the roster for a year plus like I did with mkx.
