Injustice 2 Roster Discussion & Speculation Thread

Reverse Flash will be available for purchase separately right? Was going to get the ultimate edition, but two MK characters has me a bit down on the whole thing and I mostly just care about RF and Black Manta anyway.

I don't think they have said anything on the matter.

I would assume so, eventually.

I mean, if you're interested in the DLC, do whatever.

But I really wouldn't buy the utlimate edition for a skin and two characters only, since you can all buy them individually.

You have a good point and I think it's only two or three dollars saved buying the ultimate edition. I'm just gonna keep my ultimate version it's already payed for on XBL and I don't really want anything with the money I'd save getting the 59 dollar version although I don't think the ultimate is a very good deal anymore. : (

Damn, that character pack video completely did the opposite of what they intended hahaha.

I only want Red Hood to be honest with you and the entire reason I got the ultimate was to get Reverse Flash but if he's not exclusive no point in getting it. And even if he is I won't ever play Flash anyway.

They revealed two of the most if not the most requested characters, Sub and Raiden should sell pretty good too, NRS will be fine :P

Haha true. I'm just shocked if there is a possibility that they never even expected a backlash from putting 2 MK characters in the game. I'm still getting the ultimate edition but even I'm a little taken back by that decision. If they wanna throw in guest characters then that's fine, but 2 from MK? Someone should have told Lord Boon no.

They gotta top putting Scorpion in the last game, right?
There will be a small vocal backlash, but they don't care. Both will sell well. :/

I'm bummed about it, as so many DLC spots could have meant some really cool superhero crossovers. This is the one game where I'd want to see those kind of guests. Maybe they're saving the crazy stuff for the second season when it needs a shot in the arm. If there is another season. 9 is already a lot of brand new characters. I know they said they would have more DLC than any past game, but 9 is already that. They promised the biggest launch roster ever, which was true, but just barely. They've fulfilled their promises with these, so who knows.

I'm curious what's next. Will they keep their 2-year cycle? I think a horror icon game would be cool. Do we need another MK game in 2 years? I dunno. I feel like a "super" edition would suffice for a while, so they can bring something new to the next MK game, like say better animation. (ducks under desk).

They're not Spawn, Constantine, nor Buffy. :p
I'd have preferred Spawn and Constantine too, i dont know anything about Buffy so i could do without her but... Red Hood and Starfire got mentioned so many times it got annoying. Every one of those Injustice Youtubers always bring him up and so on. You get the point.

More than one MK fighter shouldn't have been a surprise neither. It seemed like Ed mentioned how Scorpion was the best selling DLC these past months in every interview, we should have expected it. I hate it too, but they'll always go for the money. Here's hoping for a second DLC season.

The life cycle is a legitimate complaint that even I'm in agreement with. They really need to support this game more in the long term than they have with their previous games. As much as I bag on SFV, I will say the idea of keeping up support and offering new characters and a balance patch every year keeps the game alive and that's something from the Capcom notebook they need to inherit and take seriously. It's like when KP2 was released and while I was sitting there having fun learning Cyrax combos I knew that we were at the roads end in terms of support lol.

However they did improve the netcode and did one last balance patch. But that was a Quality of life (ie swan song) attempt for the game.

Assuming the silhouettes are who I think they are, the only DLC character that I actually want is Black Manta. I'm sure I'll have fun using all of them, but I'm just so disheartened by the character choices themselves. I'd love nothing more than a second year of DLC that brings back some of the more iconic characters from the first game.

I think that's a possibility. Bringing back characters saves on some work, and they might need that later on as they start to wind down and move on to the next game. I hate when they just drop a game completely. I'm reasonably familiar with DC, and for me the choices are starting to get a bit obscure. Comic guests + originals would make a good next wave.

Scorpion sold the best because he was an iconic MK character, was really easy to play for newcomers, and because the other DLC characters weren't super famous.

There's no way in hell Spawn and Buffy wouldn't outsell "Raiden" for example.

That would be awesome. A legacy character pack? I'm down. I still think that fat fuck silhouette is either Spawn or Ares but one can hope that it is actually Etrigan hahaha.

Hmm. The fact that this render is already out implies that Starfire will be the first character.

The character looks solid. The outfit could have been a little less revealing but I guess it's a fair compromise since that's how most people have seen her.

She was at the front of the trio, right?

She was, but that doesn't have to mean anything. It could have been left to right in order of release for all we know.

MKX's Kombat pack 1 reveal had the characters do the "step out of the shadows" thing in order of release, with the exception of Predator who was saved for last in the trailer.

The release order is *probably* Starfire, Red Hood, Sub-Zero

Man, imagine if they announce a PS4 & XB1 release of the Arkade Kollection with MK-MK4 at E3 to celebrate the anniversary of the series and release Sub the day it's out.

What is the Visa check out deal and is it still available?

$25 bucks off a $100 purchase when using the Visa Checkout feature at Best Buy. When stacked with the GCU membership, this leads to YUGE savings.

It's not available at the moment, but it pops up every now and again.

In regards to exclusive DLC, in Mortal Kombat X wasn't the Gold Scorpion skin exclusive to the Coarse edition? I hope the 3 premier skins for i2 aren't exclusive. I'm getting the ultimate edition anyway but for those that don't want it I hope there is an option for them to buy the skins later.

Ah damn, do you just have to have a Visa card?
