I hope Martian Manhunter returns. God it was so great watching Jupiter play that character.
He'd do these corner carry combos and end them with an orb seemlessly after the knockdown putting a fucking trap right above your head with a wall to your back. Dude was just constant setups.

Eh, I'd be pretty happy with it. Swamp Thing, Dr. Fate, Firestorm, and Captain Cold would probably be enough for me.

Oh sure, it's a question of what characters you would like to appear. My 2 most wanted are Beast Boy and Starfire, i'm sure that Beast Boy will not appear in this game so Starfire is my #1 character right now, she also got mentioned by Boon in a twitter vote. Not even on the list, so i got disappointed. Too many characters to make everyone happy.

Black Adam returning would be cool, although i would like Shazam more.

I haven't written the purported leak off for two big reasons.

1. The Harley Quinn concept art. Nobody's been able to source this. It's incredibly unlikely that an artist would spend days producing three high quality paintings just to fool a few people in a 4chan thread that slipped under everyone's radar. 99% of fake leakers revel in the attention, but this guy just replied to a few posts in a day and left. It's like the 4chan Switch leak.

2. The lack of Darkseid. Everyone and their mother was expecting Darkseid, so any sensible liar would want to include him in a fake roster. Now that we know Darkseid is a pre-order bonus, his curious absence from the 4chan list (which was posted last month) makes sense.

Scarecrow could gas the opponent in the intro dialogue, and then appear differently depending on who he's fighting, manifesting as their "worst fear" from the opponent's point of view. Could be cool.

Scarecrow will always be my favorite underrated Batman villain, who for some odd reason is always stuck as a second-fiddle in most adaptations despite having some of the scariest potential (pun intended) to be one of Batman's top adversaries.

I think, like Aquaman, he's still sort of fending off his Superfriends reputation. "Cheetah, you've got razor-sharp claws! Brainiac, your mind games are deadly! Scarecrow, you're... you're made of STRAW! What more do you need?!"

Plus, from a gameplay perspective, I don't think they'd be similar at all. They'd certainly be more distinct from one another than Superman and Supergirl.

Poison Ivy (Killer Frost meets F.A.N.G) - quick, nimble, life-sapping poison specials, maybe the ability to summon a Venus flytrap, generally seductive animation style

Swamp Thing (Solomon Grundy meets KI's Aganos) - massive, slow, powerful, can turn his arms into vines, can sink into the ground as a teleport

If Brainiac as the main villain, Scarecrow is important enough to the plot to be playable, Poison Ivy ties into it, Captain Cold has a large role, Grodd is thrown in there, Black Adam plays a part, Cheetah is made a custom skin, Joker is revived, etc. then that brings to mind Alex Ross' "Justice" comic.

I agree with the 2 points that you gave earlier about the apparent legitimacy of the leak. If that is the case then the roster does seem to be a fairly expected lineup but I'm still pretty curious to see how things shape up.

It's probably best to prepare for a Batman-heavy roster. It's by far DC's most commercially viable franchise.

Also, what's interesting is that the leaked list (minus the likely alternate costumes) plus the confirmed roster adds up to 27: 13 characters from the first game and 14 newcomers. I wonder if he accidentally left someone off the list, like Lex Luthor or Martian Manhunter.

Based on what? Ed Boon confirmed that Bryan Cranston (the trailer narrator) isn’t voicing anyone in the game.

If people get true batman fan favorites, namely Batman, Joker, Harley, a Robin, and another villain/hero, then how many more people are gonna be enticed by the extra 2-3 characters? Why wouldn't you use those slots for characters that could use a push? People became aware of or even fans of characters they'd never even heard of like Ares and Killer Frost with IGAU. How are you gonna build characters if you don't put them in media outside of comics?

Assuming the leak is even true, Poison Ivy and Scarecrow don’t strike me as forced characters. They have genuinely interesting and unique gameplay hooks. It’s not about being enticed by these specific characters, but as a casual fan of comic books and superhero media I’d be happy to see them included.

Also, I’d consider Atrocitus, Blue Beetle, and Doctor Fate as Ares/Killer Frost tier characters in the eyes of the general public. Like Ares and Killer Frost, they’ve made minor TV appearances but they’re far from mainstream.

I just don't understand why they'd hire Bryan Cranston to recite the lines in his regular American accent if the narrator was meant to be Ra's al Ghul, and then cast someone else entirely to play the character in-game (presumably with a foreign accent, like all of his other media portrayals). There's no way NRS would handicap themselves by leaving out dead characters. There are countless ways to bring them back: the Lazarus pits, magic, alternate universes, simple flashback sequences, and so on.
