Injustice 2 Roster Discussion & Speculation Thread

Just to clarify, I don't think the Ultimate Edition is a complete season pass by any extent?

They say nothing about getting all the content. You get 9 characters, 3 skins and 2 shaders. Anything beyond that - and there will be a lot more skins coming at the very least - you'll have to pay.

It won't be, all their season passes have had costumes purchasable outside the pass.
 
I mean, they sell the season pass 40 bucks, the ultimate edition is 100 bucks.

It has to be the season pass.

But I'm sure they'll have extra content to also buy on top of it.

Also remember they want to push the grind, people can buy source crystals. Not everything is going to be a pay only addition. The game is expensive as it is.

I think there's no way this doesn't sell gangbusters. Another season of DLC, though? If we get one, I think it'll be 6 characters or less. 9 DLC characters is already a boatload for an initial DLC roster, and I don't know if we'll get another 9--that'd put the roster at 47 characters, which is 10+ more than MKX's roster.
 
9 DLC characters doesn't seem like a lot when at least 3 of them are going to be guests.

I just hate that there are 16 missing characters from the first game -- anything NRS can do to whittle that number down through DLC would be greatly appreciated.
 
Yeah no, for balancing issues and realistic workload, I think we're getting possibly 4 more characters tops. Spawn, Buffy, Constantine, and one last character. Could be wrong though.

On another note, for those that finished the story, can you answer that about Scarecrow please ?
Do we find out who he is ? Is he Crane ? Alive ? Zombie ? Any clue ?

I'm sooo unlucky with motherboxes and gear in them for Aquaman. *sigh* After one day playing just 2 pieces. For all other characters I have between 5-10 pieces each. :/
 
By the way:
Easiest way to win motherboxes and gear is by the letting your high level AI team fight against a low level AI team in the Battle Simulator. You can even fast-forward. For every won match you get a golden motherbox and even if you lose you get a bronze motherbox.

Fully expecting nerf patch by the time the game releases.

I'm gonna miss the hell out of Raven, Deathstroke, Sinestro and Lex.

I also kinda wish Zatanna had made it again, I barely used her but she was pretty unique.

Watch me get salty after they show a drastically improved Raven model in the story mode.

1) They have her rights

2) It's her 20th anniversary

3) She was featured in a Poll by Ed boon with Spawn Terminator and Hellboy. I think she arrived 3rd but was very close to the second. Who was Hellboy, that just got a new movie deal with another publisher which can potentially make it impossible to get him in the game

She's also the only guest girl they mentioned, and they're not only gonna add "guys".

So she has her chances !
 
No one is going to agree, but I think 9 DLC is enough.

I would prefer it if they finished the game at 9 and then moved on to MK11.
 
Could someone with the game please check robins shader page I wanna see which one's he starts with thank you. :) I'm mostly interested in a blue and gold shader they showed in a stream a few weeks ago.

Hey I'm with you man. Raven was my main in Injustice 1 and I absolutely love her. Even though her look in Injustice 1 could have been...better.

I'm so sad that she won't be playable. Plus DLC will not include any past characters.

I was very surprised by the number of DLC characters that were announced for the initial (only?) run. Injustice 2 already has more DLC characters announced than MKX got total.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if they took their time on MK11 and did a few IJ2 characters for 2018 and 2019.
 
Well there's no shortage of characters to introduce.

I just wish the initial batch didn't include two MK characters. Assuming, of course, Boon isn't bamboozling us with those silhouettes.

They'll go from the ground up for MK11, switch to UE4, fire their animation team and hire new people, get rid of the back facing and stance switch, the whole nine yards.

I actually do think they'll rip the UE4 bandaid off for the next game.

Best Buy have still not shipped my order lol. I put faith in that best buy is awesome GAF thread, never again :(. I might just go to GameStop because I want that Jersey. If anyone doesn't want theirs and has an XL, I will gladly pay 20 bucks for it.

Ed Boon already stated that their intention is to support Injustice 2 right through to the launch of their next game, possibly after too. Their approach to Injustice 2 suggests it has been developed with hooks for long term support via patches and content updates. I'd not be surprised to see another season of characters to keep players engaged. Balance patches aren't going to keep casual players coming back. New characters will.

"We are definitely, with every game, trying to extend that DLC even longer. As a matter of fact, Mortal Kombat XL, which had the additional four more, that reached out so far that we’ve announced our next game Injustice 2 and we still had a tournament last week with Mortal Kombat XL. We certainly plan to extend it even further than we did in the past."

Destiny did see continued support and new content through bigger expansions and smaller content packs. If we're to draw comparison with Destiny as Boon did, that's what I'd be expecting of Injustice 2.

Boon mentioned that while the game will focus more on the “straightforward DC stuff,” Injustice 2 will have a “very long” post-game support with both DLC and tournaments.

Speaking to IGN, creative director Ed Boon stated that, “One of the things we’ve been doing, trying to do more and more with every game…is to support it for a longer period of time.

“With DLC characters, we’ve had four with Mortal Kombat, six with Injustice, eight with Mortal Kombat X, and with Injustice 2 we plan on continuing that pattern. It will certainly be more aggressive than we’ve been in the past.”

Nine DLC characters is hardly more aggressive than
MKX's DLC support.
