Injustice 2 Roster Discussion & Speculation Thread

So watchtower stream tomorrow, and then a reveal on Thursday. It's going to be a good week! Well, I say that but I'm heartbroken the beta is over :(. Back to playing ij1 lol. Btw, Tyler has asked if we have any questions for the stream tomorrow over on Twitter. I asked if when we destroy unwanted armor in the final game, will we get currency or materials for doing so. I really want to know because it would be nice if there was a use for all those trash drops haha.
 
Even though the Beta is over, can someone answer a question about Canary? I was having trouble dashing up and getting a hit in time when connecting with the full screen scream knockdown. Maybe I was just always late dashing up twice or rolling, but I had trouble with the timing. I guess you just have to start early as soon as the scream hits? Is there a character in the first game that would be good practice in dashing up and extending a combo. That was killing me in the Beta.

Grundy or zod, they both have full screen moves that leave opponents "stunned" for a short period for a follow up.

I miss the beta already. We only have ten or so weeks left before the retail release though. I have Breath of the Wild to keep me busy in the meantime.

You have an interesting question about the gear system; I didn't break down many drops but it'd be great if there was more to it. To be frank, I'm also curious about the inventory space and whether it'll be more expansive in the retail version.
 
I only fiddled with shaders briefly in the beta, but if I'm understanding how they worked, you still picked your individual gear pieces, and the shaders just changed the overall color scheme in that loadout? So technically, they could still still sell full alternate costumes or the game could drop "shader" costume unlocks that simply override everything visually, but still allow you to choose your gear pieces for stats? Yes? Is that how the premiere skins work? Just a "shader"?

Pretty much, yes.
Though I'm not entirely sure if premium skins will always look the same regardless of gear or whether gear pieces can be equipped on them. I'm assuming no since that would be a LOT of work.
 
There was something before the later beta patch called like inventory overflow or something, it might be what you're asking for.

Yeah I figured that was a general armor depository for when you got more than what each specific characters' inventory accounts would hold. I just want a way to make destroying armor pieces worth the effort, like currency in exchange or something that can be used for shaders, etc. It would also ease the sadness of getting a billion shitty loot drops haha.

If you're way on the other side of the screen you probably won't make it in time HOWEVER there were two factors to consider when doing a distanced canary cry:
1. Her b3 shockingly has a lot more range than it appears to and...
2. Using DF3 somersault helps move towards the opponent quicker as it covers a lot of ground.

Basically, soon as you see trait hit you should be flipping. Pause a sec then B3 otherwise it can whiff.
 
Just for the hell of it I went to boot up Injustice 2's beta to see what happens. The game crashed and them my whole Xbox crashed. That's new. Most game betas just don't connect to servers.

EDIT: nevermind, tried it again and got the customary "thanks for playing" message. Super weird it crashed on me the first time though

This right here. You can't stall at all really on the way there. I feel like a fucking dumbass but how do you MB BF2 with her and end up on the opponent's other side? I swear someone did that to me and I was confused haha. A lot of people I ran into online weren't using the canary cry in combos but rather if I was zoning them, they would wake up and hit it. It became so telegraphed it was hilarious lol. People who got really good with her were scary. One person did a 600 damage combo on me including the transition.

EDIT: anyone up for some games of IJ1 on PS4?

Haha, I can't believe I didn't know this. I'm embarrassed lol. Thank you for showing me. This is another moment like me finding out how to input a zero bar wager, by double tapping meterburn. I didn't know that initially and I was wasting both mine and the opponent's time waiting on the wager timer to end.
 

Sounds like there gonna be one or multiple major characters killed in the comics to explain their absence in Injustice 2.

Totally can see Sinestro being killed. He was a major player in the Injustice 1 comic so he being nowhere to be found in the game makes no sense if he would be alive.

Also would make sense why Atrocitus is not so concerned about Sinestro. Because he is already dead by Injustice 2.
 
Penguin would be a legitimately unique and interesting fighting game character. I've been thinking about him a lot lately.

- He knows how to fight
- He's a unique shape and size (Injustice needs more physical variation)
- He could use his umbrella like a rapier in combo strings
- He could use his umbrella as a machine gun, flamethrower, and acid sprayer, as well as to hover and deflect projectiles

I'd certainly take him over Red Hood.
 
The Street Fighter with Mortal Kombat crossover question gets asked for ever.

People should stop asking him the same question every year. He always gonna say he would love to see it but the chance is tiny.

Its really unlikely since we all know we wont gonna see Ryu getting his head chopped off and a MK game without fatalities is halfbaked what MK vs. DC shows.

I keep saying that there can be a middle ground.

I mean, at one point, Street Fighter had this come out officially:

And Mortal Kombat had THIS out officially:

And we have had a T-rated MK game... with Captain Marvel, Superman, and the like...

For all the talk of how "hard" it would be, all it would need is for Mortal Kombat to tone it down a bit to levels they've already hit before while Street Fighter upped their violence to levels they have hit in the past before.
 
From the sounds of it, Cheetah has a lot grabs.
Not what I was expecting from her.

Wonder Womans new move set is really good, and her alternate abilities seem the most interesting so far.
Especially the lasso twirl and slide.

Almost makes me wish there was an online mode that did abilities and not gear.
Oh well.
