I kind of agree with you, it's definitely a weird method of displaying damage haha.
Also another interesting caveat is that in this game, there isn't a static value for a characters hp... Different characters now have different hp values kind of like SF (new to NRS games).
 
Well that's fine by me, since some characters have less mobility and get hurt by range far more.

Like imagine bane versus firestorm, it's not fun when they're even on hp :p .

No in PVP you or your opponent will be level synced to each other.
 
I agree with Max's complaint that all the new moves/abilities for characters being hidden behind gear is obnoxious. Itd be nice if once you unlock the piece of gear you have that move in your move set to use from there on, so that if you play Ranked where gear stats are off you can still use the new moves.

Oh well. The gear is there for visuals and single player content mostly. A reason for more casual players to grind the game and enjoy it in various ways than just the online play.

On another note: props to NR for not going down the route that SF5 and MvCi is going with dumbing down the mechanics of things.
 
I'll treat gear like MK X had different "styles" not the same but it's kinda close.

I'm not even a huge DC guy and this game has me excited.
 
If Netherrealm was like Capcom they'd only talk to us once a month. That one communication would be to tell us they delayed the game or DLC a day before it was going to come out and please buy the new Ryu costume when it comes out a month and a half from now.

I honestly believe there will be a good chance of that. Btw, a shitty and at the time obviously fake Premiere Skin list leaked but what is odd is that it predicted that Cyborg would have a Grid premier skin :/. I wouldn't put much stock into the list since it was supposedly confirmed to be fake, but for shits and giggles here's the list anyway:

That's interesting...that is pretty much Shazam's trait. We don't really see Black Adam do anything with it, but there's no way that it doesn't increase the damage of his punches.


This gives more credence to the idea that Shazam will actually be a Black Adam premium skin. I wonder now if some of Black Adam's equippable abilities grant him a body torpedo and a command throw. If they do, then that's eerie.

Kilowog and Ch'p would be amazing! I'm in love with the idea. Silver Banshee and Clayface make sense as well. There's nothing on that list that couldn't theoretically work.

I can't complain about any of those, I'd especially like Kilowog and Ch'p. But no Robin skins seems super unrealistic to me. He can be any of the past robins, Ra's, Azrael, a Talon, etc

That's neato.

Adam so far seems to be 1:1 with IJ1.

So I'm confused as to how abilities work. I understand if stats are cosmetic in competitive mode, but will there be different load outs for gear abilities? I mean mkx did the same thing but with different stances.

Nope, gear stats and abilities are 1:1 :(. I'm hoping they consider offering an alternate mode where abilities are allowed but gear stats are not. The only real workaround I see for this is to keep your lvl 1 junk gear, turn off player handicap in the versus gameplay menu and play that way.

Also in regards to earlier, I do think it's weird that it said there was a Sinestro skin for Scarecrow haha. If the list is legit then maybe they meant just a yellow lantern Scarecrow?

Yeah that's what I was thinking, too. There's too many awesome skins they could do for him, which leaves me to believe even further that the list is probably full of shit lol.
 
There's plans for some side tournaments at majors, I know Pig of the Hut is trying for EVO, that will include community "standard" load outs for abilities.
 
Abilities just make me miss Rising Thunder.

That had the most promising implementation of custom moves so far.

No unlocking, chosen at the select screen.

Just have a small roster where the base characters are really varied in size/speed/normals/stats, and give them all lots of meaningfully different moves, all available and chosen at character select.

Real customization.

But I suppose that doesn't create a progression aspect to keep people playing...

I hope S-Kill can come back with a new fighter that does custom moves 100%, rather than the half hearted efforts we've seen so far. It could easily gain traction for being unique and new among fighters.

That list is obviously bullshit and was written before we knew what Scarecrow played like. Sinestro as the Injustice 2 version of Scarecrow (a hobbling beast with a scythe) makes literally zero sense.

Playing Devil's Advocate, it could be a misunderstanding from whoever got their hands on the leak and instead meant "Yellow Lantern Scarecrow (which is a thing) like Sinestro".
But yeah, I agree it's more than likely 99 percent bullshit lol. Especially considering it says there's no skins for Robin :(.

I know it's likely bullshit but the idea of Kilowog and Ch'p, Silver Banshee and Clayface Premier Skins, for Atrocitus, Black Canary and Swamp Thing just sounds so good on paper.

Plus, Grid isn't all that much of a good guess. Many of us in this thread have been asking for Crime Syndicate skins since Injustice 1. It was one of the first sets of alt skins I personally asked for when Injustice 2 first revealed.

Yeah, now guessing Kilowog and Ch'p? That's a different story. That's unlikely though. I'm just trying to imagine Kilowog doing a green barf attack.
 
Some of those skins would work better if they replaced one or two moves. A few of them would need substantially different supers as well.

There aren't many recognisable characters that come to mind when thinking about Premier Skins for Cyborg. Grid is the most obvious choice. It's an unusual Premier Skin to lock behind progress within the mobile version, however, as Grid isn't a character I'd argue the majority of players would be familiar with. It's not the first character I'd choose to promote the mobile version.

The Premier Skins that have been announced thus far have been unique characters in terms of their identity, not powers. I'm curious as to whether we'll continue to only see Premier Skins that expand the character roster, or we'll also see Premier Skins that only function as unique costumes. Is a Batman Rebirth Premier Skin, for example, possible within the scope of NRS's plans for Injustice 2? I'd much rather see a focus on expanding the core roster, albeit superficially, through Premier Skins. More Grid, Mr Freeze, Power Girl and Reverse-Flash, etc. Less Batman Rebirth, Batman (Earth 2), etc.

I'd Iove for NRS to confirm whether gender swaps are possible via Premier Skins. Choosing to adhere to the base character's gender when considering ideas for Premier Skins is rather limiting.

I'm torn on this. It's most likely limited to "expanding" the roster like Terry McGinnis for Bats. But part of me would love to see Batman and Catwoman '66 for example or the return of Black Lantern variants.

I'm torn too. I happily bought every costume NRS released for Injustice: Gods Among Us. I'd be happy with more of the same, however, Premier Skins present an opportunity for lesser known but still financially viable characters to gain some traction. Especially those who otherwise might never make the roster of a mainstream DC universe fighter.

This... Sadly was confirmed on stream recently to not happen :(. They said it was due to hit box issues that this would not be possible. I want both the skins like you mentioned and the premiere skins like we're getting such as Reverse Flash. I think a lot of the skins in the classic sense will literally just be gear sets.
