Injustice 2 Roster Discussion & Speculation Thread

Yeah, aliasing isn't nice in this game. I already noticed that before in non-compressed footage of Gamersyde. In heavily compressed stream or Youtube videos you can't see it as clearly.
At the same time they keep absolutely silent regarding the PS4 Pro, which leads me to worry there won't be any enhancements or if there are they are going to do something stupid like disabling downsampling for HDTV users or something like that. I swore to not support a game that does not support my PS4 Pro investment, after more and more developers are dropping the ball on Pro support, but I got weak yesterday and preordered the game anyway. Seeing that terrible IQ now, I wish I hadn't. :/
Well, I can still cancel for a few days. Hopefully someone with a Pro gets the game in the coming days to tell us what's up.

I would even consider those three to be at least somewhat known due to cartoons. But someone like Atrocitus is really digging deep. I'm still not even sure who he is, other than some Green Lantern character or villain or something. And I'd consider myself at least somewhat versed in DC stuff.

If popularity mattered, Nightwing, Lex or Deathstroke would be on the roster.

Not that I'm bitter that Dick isn't on the roster at all despite there being two different Robins and half a dozen ways Dick could be an alt-skin, and Starfire is on the roster, and yet he's nowhere. Not at all bitter.

Those screenshots look nothing like the actual game though.

You just have to compare with the screenshot of the same win pose from the beta that I posted on the last page. (Coming from my own capture so no bullshot)

Only The Flash having 2 is weird.

I beat the story mode too and it said something about beating all scenarios for an alternate ending. Possible something could be behind that. Didn't get any other unlocks besides brainiac.

I'm a big Joker fan... how is he in the story? Does he have cool moments? Do they do him justice?

Atrocitus had his own Red Lanterns book, it was really good and I think pretty popular.

Now I'm thinking Bleez would be a cool DLC character.

Maybe they changed the antialiasing solution? The beta might not be up to date in that regard anymore.
Do we know where these images are from anyway? We might just ask the guy what's up with them. Maybe it's the still secret Switch version. ;)

I think all of those are more well-known than her? More relevant for sure.

EDIT: nvm didn't know she was in that shitty legends show. Cheetah is less relevant to the mainstream audience then prolly.

For Cheetah I was actually talking about Super Friends lol

My mom knows who Cheetah is. Probably the only "off beat" character on the roster she would actually know. 100% because of Super Friends.

So they had a game running at 60fps locked 1080p, playable by all in a Beta that's only a few months old, and they decided to remove any anti aliasing as well as rendering the game below 720p.


Mmmh yes makes a lot of sense.

Ignore the IQ of those PG captures, it's not how the game looks. I don't know the tech details as to why, maybe someone here can clarify.

Yeah, I don't think any of them are as well known or as relevant as Vixen currently. Swamp Thing is probably on the same level as her, but the other two? Nah. Hell, Kent Nelson hasn't been the main Doctor Fate for a few years now, in both Prime Earth and Earth 2.

There's gotta be some fuckery going on with the screenshots because we've been seeing PS4 footage for so long and it's always looked fantastic. People have PLAYED the PS4 versions and no one is saying anything. Even the XB1 beta didn't look so bad.

Hellshingu, it's up to you to clear this up for us bud.

Yup, 1080p on the base PS4. That screenshots gotta be XB1 mixed some weird stuff going on with the screenshot capture, no way the game looks that bad even on XB1.

I'm still waffling on buying this. My wife really loves Powergirl, and loves that outfit. :/

I played the Xbox beta, and while it didn't look 1080p, it looked decent enough just like MKX, really. A little lower resolution, but nothing jarring like hat Supergirl pic.

Well I'm gonna be biased and say BUY IT IMMEDIATELY but remember that Power Girl is a paid DLC skin. Either you buy the Ultimate Edition which is 100$ or you buy the game and buy Power Girl separately.

She'll have her own unique look and unique dialogue though so definitely more worthwhile than buying a Premium costume in a certain fighting game *nudge nudge wink wink*
 
Daddy Wayne Batman would make a neat Red Hood alt. I don't even know how Red Hood plays in the game, but it would just work based on my knowledge of the two characters. They're both basically "Batman + guns"

I know they did a bunch of comics (I've read most of them), but they should have spun the Flashpoint universe off into a whole comic line. That world was so cool and different.

At least badass Thomas Wayne appeared again in Earth 2 (another fantastic comic by Tom Taylor).

First of all, it's an annoying habit of yours, to always act so snarky and sarcastic when someone voices a complaint, while you are constantly complaining about stupid stuff yourself. Here or on Twitter, annoying developers. Just look at one page ago regarding Power Girl's body...
Secondly, developers do optimize games at the very end of its development phase. Yes, it makes perfect sense that they maybe changed the antialiasing solution for example if the game runs better on all platforms in return. This is not the first game this has happened to. Haven't they changed a lot of this game over the course of its development, like lighting and complete character models even?
Now, we can't be perfectly sure what's exactly wrong with those images, because no one cares to tell us where they came from and from what console they are and how they were captured, but just looking at them, as a pure observation, they look terrible IQ-wise. One is allowed to point that out and wonder what might be the cause.
Last but not least, you just made up the claim they removed any antialiasing and dropped the resolution below 720p. I suggested none of that. Talking about "beyond overreacting"...

What are source crystals?

I'm not sure I care about the DLC in this game, especially with the prospect of MK characters as part of that package. I know nobody locally will play the game, so less incentive to spend 40 bucks on DLC I know nothing about yet.

If I can get power girl without buying the UE, that'd be awesome.

While that would indeed be dope, I doubt it'll happen. We've already seen Black Mask themed gear for Deadshot in one of the trailers.

There are 2 currencies in the game, Credits and Source Crystals. Credits are used to buy stuff like the loot boxes and other stuff.

Source Crystals is a real money-only currency used to purchase Shaders (colours) and Premium Skins. It has other stuff too like if you get a character to level 20, you can use source crystals to get ANOTHER character to level 20 without having to play. It also has some gear related options but you're probably not interested in that.

Not entirely sure if Source Crystals can also be earned in-game. They probably will be but with more grind required as compared to gear related stuff.

So yeah, you can definitely buy the game and then buy PG (or the necessary amount of Source Crystals) or just buy the game and grind out the source crystals.
