My point is this: Clinton slept on radical Islamic terrorism during his 8 years. There were attacks in Somalia, Kenya, Tanzania hell even New York. What did he do?

The federal government arrested, tried, and jailed everyone involved that they could get their hands on, actually. There was no state sponsor for that attack, unless you want to launch a campaign against New Jersey, where the mastermind was living at the time.

We had the oppurtunity to get Bin Laden many times and prosecute him in U.S. courts. I believe it was Sudan who even offered us OBL.

No. The Sudan offered bin Laden to Saudi Arabia for prosecution within that country, but they didn't want to touch him. Getting him independently was also a non-starter, because at the time, there was no sustainable case against him. Stop getting your history lessons from Fox and other right-wing news outlets.

n July 20, ABC radio host Sean Hannity thrice repeated the false claim that former President Bill Clinton refused a 1996 offer from Sudan to hand Osama bin Laden over to the United States. Hannity has previously propagated this claim, for which the 9-11 Commission found "no reliable evidence to support."

As Media Matters for America has noted, the false claim originated in an August 11, 2002, article on right-wing news website NewsMax.com that distorted a statement Clinton made on February 15, 2002. While addressing the Long Island Association's annual luncheon, Clinton said he "pleaded with the Saudis" to accept Sudan's offer to hand bin Laden over to Saudi Arabia. Sudan never offered bin Laden to the United States, and Clinton did not admit to the Sudan offer in that speech or anywhere else. (Clinton's statements are posted here).

Iraq has nothing, absolutely nothing to do with this topic so I fail to see why you keep bringing it up.

Fearless leader says Iraq is central to the war on terror.

Afghanistan was not harboring Osama Bin Laden the fund/mastermind of some of those att

It is one of the most important parts of the war on terror, but that is besides the point.

The Taliban was harboring bin Laden after we knew that he was the money and seed of the 9/11 plot. Diplomacy failed, and the Taliban government was quickly greeted with bunker-busters plied with "I <3 NY" bumper stickers. Probably the single, solitary move Bush has made in his Presidency that I agree with. The problem is that by the time the dust settled (literally and figuratively), bin Laden had escaped.

But how when there were NO LINKS BETWEEN IRAQ AND AL QUAEDA?

Your math doesn't work. It's important because we fucked up by going there in the first place.

Hey GOP talking point, The_Sorrow, since you love to play the blame game, can you answer me a few questions?

Who initially funded and trained Osama Bin Laden? Which administration?

Who provided Saddam Hussein with the evil Weapons of Mass Destruction? Which adminstration?

Thanks in advance!

I love how NO ONE from the camp that supports Bush was wants to even dare answer that one.

The_Sorrow vs GAF

FIGHT!

:lol :lol :lol :lol

Haven't you ever heard of the phrase "an enemy of my enemy is my friend?" Iraq was our ally back then, because the Ayatollahs were acting up.

With Afghanistan, yeah, Reagan Admin. helped OBL and Afghan rebels to fight the soviets from invading Afghanistan.

Which admin. gave missle technology to China and light water reactors to N. Korea?

I am glad some of you still pay attention to the news. Seems like there are quite a few od you.

Since the news seems to be spun out of control on any station and newspaper, I take everything with at tablespoon of salt.

What the hell does that have to do with anything? We didn't make OBL who he is by his training in Afghanistan. That's practically ancient history at this point in time. Same thing with the dealing of Saddam in the 80's.

Also since you guys keep bringing up Iraq, I'll get some nice quotes out for you guys.

"We know that he has stored secret supplies of biological and chemical weapons throughout his country."
-- Al Gore, Sept. 23, 2002

"One way or the other, we are determined to deny Iraq the capacity to develop weapons of mass destruction and the missiles to deliver them. That is our bottom line."
- President Clinton, Feb. 4, 1998

"He will use those weapons of mass destruction again, as he has ten times since 1983."
- Sandy Berger, Clinton National Security Adviser, Feb, 18, 1998

"We have known for many years that Saddam Hussein is seeking and developing weapons of mass destruction."
-- Sen. Ted Kennedy (D, MA), Sept. 27, 2002

Really? The Kashmir dispute and one school seizure in Russia account for 2004's increase of 480 acts of terrorism? And did you miss the part about 2003 being a record year even before 2004's massive increase?

Just shut the fuck up already.
*ahem*

I saw this special last night.

Man, that guy who slipped and fell after he crawled out of the window and tried to climb down the frame of the building... :(
