Identifies as young
In a recent report, the topic of the newer version of the PlayStation 5 Slim was revisited after it was 'quietly released' in Europe, but it highlighted again the 'performance hit' on account of the manufacturer using cheaper components. It had a smaller SSD totalling just 825 GB of storage, compared to the previous 1 TB featured in the original PS5 Slim.
Now, the same outlet has reported that a new version of the PS5 Pro is set to be released later this month in the European market under the product designation 'CFI-7121', but the modifications to the unit are unclear.
What was cleared up were any concerns around the storage capacity of the unit. It was thought that Sony might follow suit with the reduction in storage capacity of the new PS5 Slim, but that doesn't seem to be the case:
The report from Dealabs also noted that there's no indication of when this new PS5 Pro model will be released in the Americas, and that in the European region, the price will remain fixed at €799.99, which is still a pretty penny.
Dealabs learned most of the information regarding the new PS5 Slim and Pro units from Japanese certification documents published earlier this year by Kunkoku.
It's highly unlikely this will be something that existing users purchase, but for those just getting into the 'enthusiast-grade' PlayStation 5 Pro scene, there might be something new under the hood to experiment with.

Expectations For the New PS5 Pro
In a report penned by Dealabs, it was claimed that a new PS5 Pro (CFI-7121) is set to arrive in Europe from September 30, 2025. It was suggested that this model will feature improvements, but as to what they are, nobody seems to know. What was cleared up were any concerns around the storage capacity of the unit. As there's no modification of the exterior design, it's safe to assume that this isn't some step towards the PS5 Pro Slim.On the other hand, one point seems to be confirmed, no reduction in storage capacity is expected. The PS5 Pro CFI-7121 would thus retain its 2 TB of SSD storage , without modifying its exterior design.
