Insider-Gaming: Ubisoft's Roadmap for 2026-2027 (Rayman Remake, Splinter Cell Remake, New Ghost Recon etc)

Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?

Ubisoft has announced that its teams at Ubisoft Montpellier and Ubisoft Milan are working on "the future of Rayman".

The news was announced in a new video uploaded by the official Rayman X/Twitter account, marking the celebration of Rayman's 30th anniversary. In the video, it was said that the two studios are "currently working together on the future of Rayman," but fans shouldn't "expect news from us too soon."

Ubisoft currently has the following projects scheduled to release in 2026/2027:

Project Ovr – The next mainline Ghost Recon game
Project Hexe – The next mainline Assassin's Creed game
Project North – A Splinter Cell Remake
Project Blackbird – The new mainline Far Cry game
Project Maverick – A new Far Cry extraction-based shooter (I have a feeling this might get cancelled)
Project Rewind – A Prince of Persia Remake
Project Alterra – A Animal Crossing-esque type game
Project Crest – A WW2 extraction-based shooter
Project BG&E2 – Beyond Good and Evil 2 (yes, I know… but it's still happening!)

Project Obsidian (Assassin's Creed Black Flag Remake) and Project Invictus (Assassin's Creed Multiplayer) release dates are up in the air, but were scheduled to release by the end of 2025.

Other future projects beyond 2027 include The Division 3, the next mainline The Crew game, and multiple other mainline and smaller Assassin's Creed experiences. Ubisoft is also currently developing other small experiences connected to its IPs, including a turn-based Rainbow 6 game.

Translation: You won't hear fuck all from Ubisoft until Rayman is cancelled outright.

I have lost all hope hype for FarCry games.
I dont really play Extraction shooters (Does Hunt Showdown count as an extraction shooter?)

Beyond that the list actually looks solid

If Ghost Recon is more like the good Ghost Recons im in.
If the next Assassins Creed is coming like next year, ill probably skip it......year after im in.
Prince of Persia Remake sounds great, I had it on OG Xbox but for the life of me have no idea where the disk is (for BC) and the game was delisted, so I havent played it in forever but have fond memories of it.
Beyond Good and Evil 2.......I still believe!

And obviously more SplinterCell.......bring it, weve been begging for this since forever, why you no give us SplinterCell?
Mercs vs Spies mode......offshoot it as a standalone live service game and Ill be in that for the rest of my life!

Rayman Remake as in 2D or 3D I wonder.

New Ghost Recon, this was said to be first person only, right? Back to the roots in terms of that. Let's see how it pans out.

I feel bad for Watch Dogs. I mean the games weren't anything to write home about and the third one was an abomination, but I have a real soft spot for GTA clones and we don't get many of them these days.

For once I'm actually interested in Ubisoft games. Rayman, BG&E2, PoP remake, splinter cell remake.

Surprised they didn't continue with Avatar

Interested in warfighter ghost recon type game plus new motorfest game.

Future Soldier was panned for being less tactical than previous games, but you should really give it a go again.
It held up surprisingly well.
I wouldnt mind a good cross between Warfighter and Future Soldier.

Whoops, it's in a part of the article I didn't copy, lol.

That's a shame. So much potential squandered away with the Ubi formula.
Yeah I thought it was an ok Far Cry clone but nothing special. Gorgeous game though.

Ubisoft got cold feet on licensed IP after Avatar and Outlaws flopped. Outlaws should have been a home run with the Ubisoft formula IMO. Too many questionable design choices screwed that game.

There was a livestream yesterday for "Rayman Alive" which is is a fan event that showcased all of the Rayman games. Even some Ubi members were in on it.

It's in the article
In October 2024, Insider Gaming exclusively reported that development began on a Rayman Remake under the codename 'Steambot'. While we do not have too much information on the news, it's understood to be tentatively targeting a late 2026 release date as the project has been going "incredibly well", according to those familiar with the game's development.

In addition to Steambot, it's also understood that Ubisoft wants to take the Rayman franchise further than just a remake, too, and has already made preliminary plans to develop Rayman 4.

According to sources, the project is planned but will depend on Steambot's success. If put into production, it is expected to be released by the end of the decade.

But they just released an 3rd person update so now you get to look at your blue alien butt. Maybe that will get people playing. :)
The game didnt even make sense to begin with. It's basically an action/shooter game at its core. Maybe if they made it a big SP game with more narrative and less guns it'd fit the IP more.

I'm excited to see Splinter Cell but quite scared at the same time.
If the rumours about Ghost Recon are true and they're going for a more realistic and tactical game this time around then I'm curious to see that as well. I tried Wildlands but it really wasn't my thing.
