Hello Internet friends!
Please help!
I cannot work out how to activate DirectX. I'm using a 2000 iMac running Mac OS9 and a version of IE but I cannot work out which. :-(
I need Gmail, please help!

Your post makes little sense. Are you asking how to get "ActiveX" to work in Mac IE? You can't. ActiveX is a Microsoft proprietary technology that only works with Windows browsers.

Also, are you trying to get gmail to work? Because gmail doesn't require ActiveX. It should just work.

At login, Gmail says:

Gmail requires ActiveX controls to be enabled

Your browser seems to be Internet Explorer, and ActiveX seems to be disabled. Gmail requires ActiveX to be enabled in order to operate.

To use Gmail, enable ActiveX controls in Internet Explorer. You can do this by going to the Tools menu, selecting Internet Options, Security tab, Internet zone, and either select the Default Level, or selecting Custom Level and scrolling down to "Run ActiveX controls and plug-ins" and selecting Enable.

After enabling ActiveX controls, try again.

So what the fuck can I do!? :-(

I hope so! Any ideas? I found a Mozilla but it's a hobbyist hacked version. Any help, received with gratitude.

If you must run OS9, try iCab. It's probably the most updated OS9 browser.

Still, Google should know better than just assume all IE users are running Windows. That's a pretty amateur web designer mistake. =p

Using iCab as recomended. Works fine except for Gmail. Already done the deed, yesterday. Have a ring on my finger and a wife now lad. And it feels really, really spectacular. See you 4thish.

Its not ActiveX. The problem is that your IE version on OS9 is probably older than you are
