I have an interview for an early morning position in a retail store and I'm going in for an interview today. Any tips? How long would it probably take?

Wear a suit or jacket and slacks, make eye contact, exude confidence. You'll do great.

ETA: I would be surprised if it was longer than 45 minutes.

Duration depends on how the interview is constructed. Tips? Don't rotely memorize answers, practice on questions they might ask you and have a rough idea on what you should answer. Intuition is almost always better than trying to remember a point you memorized while you're stuttering and mumbling.

If it's a retail position, just wear something nice.

Most of your answers are going to be "i may lack experience, but I am a quick learner and a hard worker" Say things like "my greatest strength is being punctual. I will show up on time, and won't miss work"

It probably won't take very long. Just act fairly relaxed, but speak like you would to your principal or something. Retail places just want someone who isn't brain-dead and will show up.

yeah, I've interviewed before. We really don't care, just so long as you don't look sleazy, and aren't a moron you'll get the job.

I've got a 45 min interview for a state job tomorrow (health and human services) which I'm a little nervous for, so posting to say good luck op and advice-wise, think before you talk. Better off pausing for a second than stuttering mid sentence.

Hopefully it'll be like my interview for my current position. It wasn't really a interview, more like my boss telling me about the position.

What position(department) and maybe store are you applying for OP?
