my 3dfx Voodoo was chomping at the bit at the time..




Into the Shadows is an action game developed by Triton in 1995. Triton was a demo group from Sweden, known for several popular demos in the early 1990s. The game was supposed to be published by Scavenger and featured an engine which was considered superior to the Quake engine. Unfortunately, it got cancelled around early 1998, when Scavenger went bankrupt.

This was in the scene around summer the year that the first command and conquer came out on DOS. I remember it vaguely but not entirely sure how since I don't think I played it myself. It was a super sticky hot late summer day at my dads game shop and they were installing MSDOS command an conquer on a customers computer whilst talking about this. Good memories.

Videogames were hard to get ahold of back then which kind of gave them an aura. It felt like something new and awesome would come out on a monthly basis back then and generate a buzz in the gaming meets and cafes they used to host. Both my dad and his brother are long dead at this point, would have been sweet to share the current era with them, they would have lost their minds at the accessibility to something like Steam and GOG

I was too busy playing this bad boy around that year!
