Speaking of AM, he is sitting at a healthy 40.76% win rate this patch himself..
Really if you look at the list of heroes with least wins, with the exception of foodmother, they are all heroes that require quite a bit of team work AND individual skill to be successful. Stuff like Io, AM, Morphling, Chen. These are top tier heroes in the right situation, but in a pub, they just don't work.
Its fun!
Imagine how popular a random button would be in LoL if you could get any champ, not just those that you own.
Or you could just random and ask people to swap with you, that's what I would do.

There's ARAM for that. (People still get unusually salty over what champion they get, because people = the worst.)
game had all champions available for like three weeks when latam south opened up, arams were pretty godly.
i think i tried two champions on normal games and went back to ori tho

No hylian, it doesn't matter if you explain why he has a low win rate, it's still really low. Tho I wish people would use more bracketed win rates. Pretty sure kaolin has better rates at higher mmr. Just as blue v purp disparity is smaller at higher Elo

Perhaps it is an example of shifting times where everybody becomes indoctrinated with the fast language of the internet.
I think language is a very fluid concept and like water people should try not to get splashed.
I mean if reason is the first language we all learn it is not important the way we communicate but the way that me reach conclusions
We should make sure our facts first make sense and that our conclusions follow logically from those facts

He is actually never used at all with griefers as far as I can tell, he is just extremely hard to use well, most people don't actively hurt their own team with him, they are just useless.
As people here have said before, he was at a 40 percent win rate, and got nerfed heavily...
To be honest, if he would be put into captains mode as is, I would be very surprised if be was not picked here and there

His pull ability by itself is insanely strong and he has an instant 5s silence/nuke which fits well in the current meta. I think he will see some use in promatches if people give him the time. The charge rate on remnants still feels a bit too high in the meta, especially when he needs an extra rock compared to before to initiate 'well'. You can risk roll ins, but you can just die and setup time on a good kick/pull limits your engage distance.
He would probably fit best as an Offlaner in the current meta I think. All he needs is levels and 1 luxury item. Kinda like Centaur.

You can turn allied help on or off too. I mean I wouldn't have been able to beast mode save my random Silencer bro in this game (He bought me wards after). This is what made ES so fun to play. (Mask = Silence, Stun is stun, rolling = 50% AS/MS slow, Ult = DoT)

He still has a fantastic kit, he just really needs a Blink dagger to shine and he can't auto kill initiate as often from level 6. Even with Blink you still need a small setup time (imo) on your stun because the hitbox/direction is EXTREMELY picky since it uses your hero center hitbox to cursor to decide direction of the stone.

Anyone I've seen on ES has been complete garbage or could have played better on another character. That said even when he was OP I only saw 1 good person play him.
IIRC the Kaolin (ES) WR% was only like 8% difference max, even at vHigh (3700MMR+) it was 40-44% or something.

I've only had one single player grief significantly in 400 matches and the guy almost honestly kinda deserved it since we could actually win if he stopped dying. We had a Russian Pudge who was doing well and helping our team and coordinating in broken English while Jakiro randomly fed lanes and was I think something absurd like 1-18 so Pudge hooked him to a ledge he couldn't get off of (This has been patched).

Yes, but (presumably) you're at a halfway respectable MMR. This may surprise you, but most griefers tend to exist at the extreme low end of the Elo spectrum. They don't win a lot of games, for some reason.
Assuming that Earth Spirit's winrate is global, it's also counting MMR 0 games where the worst of the worst in DotA2 duke it out to see who can lose the least, which is the sort of arena where you expect someone to pick him just to try and assist the other team in ganking his carries.
Trust me, as someone who's helped carry a friend out of Elo 0 in League I can assure you: there are people in those Stygian pits who put a surprising amount of effort into mastery over their griefing. I ran into at least one Anivia player whose walls would have been god-tier in terms of placement and timing if only he was using them for something other than making it impossible for his teammates to escape ganks.
I've never come across this in either Dota or League yet and also have yet to run into the 'rampant toxicity' so either I'm lucky or actively hampering it in my own games (I think it's the latter).
A bit or early talking and admitting of mistakes goes a long way imo.
At lower MMR it's only a problem if someone is duo queue feeding an account and there are way more problems of smurfs than griefing. Even on my new Dota account so far in 20 games no griefing. People just legitimately want to win or something. If they do grief they just get Low-Priority queue (You can report for Ability Griefing) and I find any players I do report get LP next day, so I don't play with them.

It's very rare even at average (Silver in League) MMR. You can't really be a legitimately "toxic" player very long without tanking your Elo into the toilet or getting banned.
The problem that I observed in my Adventures in Elo Hell was that everyone in the post-game screen seemed to be reporting everyone else for everything, usually things that aren't even actually against the rules, so it probably takes dozens of games at that level to establish a pattern of abusive behavior. (Because you're having to sort out the legitimate, "Look, I know this Anivia's build doesn't look troll and her KDA wasn't that bad, but trust me she was walling me off with the enemy team just to watch me die" reports from the "This Nasus went 0/3/0 in top lane and maxed E first!" or "This Nami stole some of my CS!" reports.)
Edit: I think I might see some of the confusion here. When I say "0 MMR" I don't mean "never played a match". A player with zero games is usually assumed to be about 1100 MMR until they've done their placements, so their first game fresh off the boat is against Silver opponents or thereabouts. 0 MMR in League is literally, "This is as low as our scale goes. You lost a lot of games to get here, bucko."

I've seen very few griefers in either game. That is, people who actively seek to screw teammates over.
I have seen more intentional feeders. Mostly, I've just seen people play poorly, then give up and intentionally feed to save their pride. The kind of people who say "I didn't even try" as a shielding mechanism. Because they really did try, but got bodied and don't want to feel bad about letting a team down.
yea reality is for all the silliness in rito's behavioral studies, they're pretty on point
most of the people you find in games actually are really positive by simply not talking
and lets be real, no one gives a shit about what your teammates say, you're not playing these games to make friends

Dota 2 has me a little irritated right now, think I may wait until the next balance patch. I just absolutely hate every single great hero right now. Invoker, Storm, Lycan, Ember, TB, Phoenix, all extremely hard to catch and kill. It seems Doom or Silencer is mandatory just to catch half of those heroes in the early game.
Meanwhile I reinstalled league and am doing the daily bonus IP, slowly relearning how to play.

I just started playing Dota 2 and it's really tough. Enemy heroes make pretty short work of me even when the game just started.

I have played both and like them both about the same, but I only have time to get into one. I would like to get into the one that will be around the longest.

In the days of every other company letting something whither and die, I'd say even that is worthy of note.
Also prepare for my l33t impressions of BAllS.
With the way Valve are promoting the pro scene to sustain itself, plus community made hats and hopefully custom game support soon, I wouldn't be surprised if Dota 2 can look after itself even after Valve have largely abandoned it. People like Icefrog will still be there for balancing, and somewhere down the line Valve could take the workshop to the point where entire heroes could be designed using it, with say Icefrog approving which ones get in. A game kept alive entirely by the community would be pretty cool.

Look at tf2. It's practically there. The last patch was 80% community made and this next one is almost 100%.

Lycan is a deathball unto himself and Howl is maybe the strongest deathball pushing spell in the whole game.
I'm imagining it now. Icefrog puts out an announcement, 'we are putting two new heroes in the next patch, these are their skillsets, whoever can come up with the best visual design gets it into the game.' Would be cool.
It's interesting, but with Valve's traditional aloofness there's nothing to really hold back the community when it loses any semblance of sanity. Diretide 2013 was absolutely ridiculous and probably wouldn't have been so out of hand if the developer and publisher weren't B. Traven tier. (I'm not victim blaming, just saying that there are no mechanisms in place to "put out fires" so to speak.)

They likely need to remove or tune down one of the qualities. I think maybe making Necro creeps not effected by it would be a good first steep, or making it so it isn't global.
