Only played through two levels, but it didn't do much for me. Probably not going to drop the $10 on it.

Love the demo of SMR and my daughter loves it too. Absolutely spending $10 on this. Looks great on iPad.

I've been playing this for 3-4 hours now. It's a lot better than Fifa mobile, but it has massive issues. Obviously it's missing licences, the menu interface is an incredible mess and it's slow because it's connecting to the servers all the time. There's only 1 mode FUT-like mode.
The controls are the biggest issue though, there are only swipe controls, no touch controls. And the controls are not responsive at all, when you want to play a through-ball there's 2-3 seconds input delay, so when your player finally wants to play the ball you already lost it. Most commands are done by swipes or flicks, it's not accurate enough. Then the defensive heading and sliding tackles are under the same button, that really doesn't work when you have to defend cornerkicks.

They're different kinds of runners. Rayman is about speed and flowing through the levels smoothly. This is more technical, with different contextual jumps and a focus on timing leaps and falling. I'm the opposite; beforehand I didn't see anything special, but having played, I can see the talent and craft in the level design and movement. It's very well designed.Finished first 3 free levels and i am failing to understand what is so special about this game, i don't get all the hype.
It's not bad but it's not anything new and fresh. There are only few levels in the game and i think that it's not worth more than 4 or 5$.
I prefer Rayman mobile games.

......, I feel like tenner despite this level of polish feels like a little too much for amount of levels included - it loooks like you could beat the game faster than 1 world in NSMB on DS
I like the fact everyone finds something different in games.
I too love Lost Socks and never really liked Rayman, they are both runners but the flow is totally different.
Mario is much more similar to Lost Socks imho, and that's why I'm loving it so much.
I generally don't like replaying the same levels...but I loved the hell out of it in Lost Socks and damn, it's almost even better in Mario in that regard.
The special coins idea is brilliant, and when you complete a set the level slightly changes too, so it feels fresh.
So far I'm having a blast, and it's not even my fav genre.
Level design is sooooo tight, glorious.
I need me some Animal Crossing right now.
At least we won't have to wait more than 3 months for that one.
It's definitely got the replay value like Lost Socks. And I am definitely loving it.
Just the whole through the roof production values, animation, weapon variation, power ups and insane, branching level design will make Lost Socks very difficult to beat for me. It's also got a ton of content and lengthy levels.
They are much different games when taken as a whole with combat, etc. in Lost Socks. That game was also incredibly difficult at times even to finish a level let alone get everything in it.
But anyway, didn't want to belittle what Nintendo has done here. It's a quality game. Just hard to top Lost Socks for me at least.
This game is about high score. Refining and perfecting your run to maximize your coin totals is the real game here. Wall jumping, vault jumping and mastering other techniques is mandatory for maximizing scores. If you are just playing the levels, beating them and saying "I beat the game" you are doing it wrong.
I'm really hoping AC is a buy-once thing and it's done. If they fill it with IAP furniture and stuff, I'm in trouble.
Why? Why not a premium game? Or am I missing some sarcasm here?I am personally hoping for IAP and microtransactions in the Animal Crossing game.

Super Mario Run is a decent game. It accomplishes the fairly difficult goal of feeling like a proper Mario game while also bowing to some of the trends of mobile gaming. But with the likes of Rayman Fiesta Run [$2.99], Wind-Up Knight 2 [Free], Punch Quest [Free], and countless others competing at a high level in this genre, decent isn't really good enough. A grindy town-builder isn't exciting enough. A couple of hours of fun with only coin-hunting to keep you busy isn't substantial enough. If you want Mario on your iPhone, Super Mario Run does its best to approximate the trappings. On the other hand, if you're looking for a top-shelf auto-runner to play, it's-a not him.

No, it's not sarcasm.
I mean, premium would be the best for sure, but I wouldn't mind having the option to pay for in-game items or tickets or what have you. I wish I could buy Toad Rally tickets in Super Mario Run already.
Have done so.lol nope. If you have a problem with his review, go tell him or comment on the site.
