iOS Gaming March 2017 | Switch to iOS

Do we know for sure that new games are releasing during the weekend? I thought the App Store team went home on the weekends.
Yes. There's an anticipated game releasing Sunday at midnight. But games have always come out on weekends, often that's why I miss some cool game releasing.

I thought I remember reading about something coming out Saturday but can't find it now. Who knows? I think releases can be timed to come out at a certain point and release automatically without human intervention.

I did think of another game that probably would be considered part of the indie event -- The Big Journey on March 16th. Looking forward to that Rolando-like platformer.

Well I know games can release on the weekends I just didn't know the App Store can be updated during the weekend with new banners and stuff.

care to give us a hint on what's releasing at midnight on Sunday? ;)

Wow. How far is anyone else that's playing After the End? I'm on Episode 9 after spending an hour and a half on Episode 7. What an absolutely brilliant game!

The use of perspective, emotional story and action oriented puzzles is phenomenal. The boss battle at the end of E7 nearly killed me a bit finger wise but it's so well done.

I actually think this may be in my top iOS games of all time and most definitely a GoTY contender.

Yeah, After The End is a surpisingly massive puzzle game. Far from the usual 30 second stages in many mobile puzzlers

Played Kingdom till 3 am. AGAIN.
I can't feel my eyes anymore.

SO GOOD.
I fear my kingdom is ruined tough, I was about to sail away but I made a huge mistake and now everything is falling apart.
Winter left a huge toll on my once glorious domain.
I don't know where the fuck the merchant is gone.
Not sure if he has been killed.
Like almost everybody else to be fair.
The central plaza that once was buzzing with people and trades, is now a cemetery.

The control you have over your kingdom is surprisingly deep, expecially considering you just swipe left, right and down.

Masterpiece.

This will be a tough year for the goty to be chosen.
It's just the first quarter and I have several games already in the goty list.

GLORIOUS.

That and I did die a LOT during that boss battle (partly finger fatigue, which I guess is a bit of a negative but I enjoyed the heck of it anyway.)

So Kingdom: New Lands was indeed Friday's selection. I forgot about it but technically Framed 2 is coming out "Early 2017"...

And looking forward to that game Sunday then ;)

Beglitched, by the creator of Swap Sword, could be today's game (I'm quite sure it is):

Cool! It's got positive reviews on Steam. Sounds like another RPG-ish match-3 battler with a computer theme.

.....this week could be tough on the wallet.
This is pretty good so far. Part Minesweeper, part 868-Hack, part Puzzle Quest

Sold! This settles it. Intead of deciding between Pan-Pan or After the End i will buy this one. Want a new match-3 that does thing a little different and this seems like it

So what are the first three days games ? I have a hard time following the thing.
Day 1 - Mushroom 11
Day 2 - Kingdom New Lands
Day 3 - Beglitched

Do I have the thing right ?

I think it's:

Day 1 - Mushroom 11
Day 2 - Kingdom: New Lands
Day 3 - Beglitched
Day 4 - Euclidean Lands
Day 5 - Bit City
Day 6 - Golf Zero
Day 7 - ?
Day 8 - Cosmic Express
Day 9 - ?
Day 10 - Typeshift
Day 11 - ?

We are currently at Day 3.

So that leaves us with three empty days. I'm thinking Card Thief. I'm not holding my breath for Death Road to Canada though.

Card Thief is confirmed for one of those slots.

And might be able to place Euclidean Lands if you take a look at the screenshots. ;)

Card Thief is definitely coming next week. Devs already confirmed it

Keeping my fingers crossed for Death Road. The devs already submitted it, so it's possible that Apple could have fast-tracked it for a late release next week

I'm not really impressed by the games being offered for this campaign, but I am content with Euclidean Lands, Bit City, Cosmic Express and Card Thief. Hoping for some big game but not counting on it.

Out of the ones so far, Mushroom 11 is fantastic. One of the most unique indie games of 2015, and it plays like a dream on touch

I have high hopes about Euclidean Lands, but I can already say Card Thief is GOTY material (I think I played over 30-40 hours during the beta and I'm not done yet) and I'm in utter LOVE with Kingdom New Lands.

Having both After the End and Pan Pan, I'm not sure if I want yet another puzzler like Euclidean Lands. But we'll see.

This is a real problem for me too.
I hate not to buy some games at launch (recently Mushroom and After the End) but I can play only some games in a certain amount of time, and sometimes playing similar games one after the other wouldn't give them justice.
I fear this will be a problem with so many indies game all concentrated in a small amount of time.

To be fair, they may be puzzlers, but they're not really similar. Euclidean Lands is like the GO games, Pan Pan is similar to Witness in its sense of parsing out secrets and how things work, and After The End is more traditional switch/block/level-based puzzler

I get that. Honestly having trouble getting into Pan Pan. Maybe a bit too obtuse to me.

After the End may have traditional elements like switches but the way it comes together with a bigger use of perspective than I've seen in any game is brilliant. I also like that it has an adventure vibe like Journey with some heartfelt emotion in there. Toss in at least one non-puzzle boss battle while dealing with a sand storm as well. Really an epic game.

Can you tell how much I love it? :)

Fuck I hate puzzle games sometimes. I've never completed any kind of these games and I'm stuck on level 1 of After the End for what feels like an eternity. I really hope we will get something else than puzzle games, roguelikes and pixelart games soon. Hidden Folks is great but a tad too hardcore for the kids. Wish there was an Easy mode with a smaller area and a color mode.
