I would say the only thing that I would be worried about them upgrading is the storage space and make it 3G. But damn, everything for me is running perfectly and anything that it's missing (custom ringtones, sideboard keyboard used more, ect) has good probability to be updated soon.StrikerObi said:So apart from the activation issues, are any of you seeing any flaws that don't look like they could be fixed with a software upgrade? I'm talking about things like first run iPod Nano's being scratch magnets (iPhone obviously isn't), Macbook Pro heat issues, Macbook discoloration, etc. I really want one but I'm wary of first-off-the-factory-line Apple products.

This is because no WM phone OEM are willing to stick gigs of Nandflash into their devices to allow for such browser. OS footprint for iPhone vs. WM phone is like a Semi truck vs a Yugo.
I think the "real internet" part of the iPhone will be the most outclassed part in shortest time since "real internet" without flash website support is more like "real internet" from the year 2000 instead of 2007.
If I wanted tiny "real internet" device right now and was willing to spend the money, I'd choose something like the OQO model 2, which isn't much bigger than the iPhone (4.5"x2.4"x.46" vs 5.6"x3.3"x1.0"). You get 800x480 LCD, real X86 processor, actual full Windows instead of OSX lite, built in EVDO rev A, and real browsers that supports flash and everything else "real internet" demands in 2007. It's $2000, but you get a full PC that can do everything except high end 3D gaming. And that's based on 2006 tech.
By next year, you will have the same kind of experience but for UMPCs that are closer to $1000 with the coming of the Menlow platform and the Silverthorne processor from Intel. Now ask yourself: $600 for a PDA+ or $1000 for a real PC not much bigger? I'd choose the latter in a heartbeat, and have a real cheap phone with it instead of having a iPod, phone, gimped internet tablet in one device that shares the same battery that you can't swap.

Is it part of the regular phone plan?
Is it seperate?
Does the touch screen feel like the DS one? or is more solid?

They are two totally different types of touch screens. The iPhone one only works with finger tips, not a stylus. So, I'm not sure you would ever see it in a DS.titiklabingapat said:Are we looking at the next generation of DS touch screen if Apple is successful enough to bring the price down of the iphone touchscreen?

I think they wanted it to be GSM so they could sell one model it around the world and T-Mobile wasn't a big enough company. It's really no more complicated than that.aparisi2274 said:i still cant understand why apple would partner with AT&T... Why not Sprint or Verizon... AT&T is crap...

I really don't understand the hype for iphone. It does nothing new at all as far as I know. If I'm wrong, please correct me.

Apple went to Verizon first, Verizon turned them down, so they went to AT&T.aparisi2274 said:i still cant understand why apple would partner with AT&T... Why not Sprint or Verizon... AT&T is crap...

I'm stuck in a verizon plan as well, but iphone looks pretty damned tempting.
