Just looked at two pairs of iphone headphones, both had china stamped near the split. Even pulled one from my 3gs box and snapped a pic. Sorry for the quality, dark room + 3gs camera = no bueno.

I wouldn't worry about leaving the phone plugged in overnight but you will get varying opinions about that issue.

I made up my mind, black it will be. It's more coherent with iPhone's design (after all, it is black on the front) and it looks more like a serious phone in that colour instead of a toy.

I'm not sure what normal but I have my battery percentage on with 70% charge remaining.

Usage: 2 Hours, 49 minutes
Standby: 1 day, 23 hours

Just checked my phone, and I too seemingly have a spectacular battery compared to some here it seems. Took the below screencap 10 minutes ago, stats were reset yesterday.

Approx 2 hours of music, 1 hour of phone calls and 1.5 hours of 3g web surfing, this is all without BT enabled though, on a iPhone 3G running 3.0.

That's seems pretty good. I never really pay attention to that screen but my battery is never a problem and usually lasts all day unless I play a few 3D games. I approve of the 3GS battery over all.

Twice now I've had my battery dipping much faster than I'd ever expect, and then at some random point in the afternoon I'll magically have another 20-30% over what it had been telling me.

When I'm staring at the battery indicator as I do things, it seems to drain at a normal pace, but sometimes the phone is in my pocket doing nothing and I'll pull it out to see that 20% has drained with my phone idling.

...I alone in this I take it?

I get that too. Need to sort this battery life out too, not happy with it.
From fully charged, Usage 52mins
Standby 4hrs 47mins ... And the battery is down to 19%
and in the time it took me to write this (on my iPhone) it's now 12%!

I'm going camping for 3 nights soon and by this rate I'll be out of battery by the time I've pitched the tent!

You'll have to pay the early upgrade price ($200 over standard upgrade) if you aren't eligible.

It depends, you can buy a replacement but you won't get the same discount as if you signed up for a new plan. If you bought your 3G with a apple care plan you might be able to get it replaced but Apple might replace it with another 3G. If I worked at Apple I would just charge you the 199 for the 3GS since you are cute.

My 3G's battery was just fine until about a week ago. (have had the phone for a year)
Seems to hit 20% semi-quickly lately.

Try turning off push notifications and rebooting. I had great batter life before 3.0 but after I was barely getting 10 hours without even using the phone. Turning off push an rbooting restored m battery life. The key I that your phone should not be tallying up usage time when asleep. Swith your phone to sleep, noting usage time , for about 30 minutes. If usage stays where it is and you're still getting battery life, then maybe seek another solution.

2) Has Google said anything about Latitude for iPhone? I know it's "coming soon" but it has been for a while now.

I gotta google voice invite and holy shit is thing gonna be crazy when it comes out and all the features are added. I pranked my friend by sending SMS from my google voice inbox and had him scared thinking it was his crazy ex gf. You can manage/see everything from iPhone at the google voice mobile page and google has a full fledged app coming out for it soon.

Be careful if you have an Invisible Shield on your phone.
I Installed a Incase Slider with my iTouch after having put the Invisible Shield, an the case is now stuck on the shield, with no way to release it.
The Shield has too much grip and the case is too tight ^^

I'm sure it won't matter for long, as most people get a case to cover the thing up. I've had an iPhone since the release date on the original, never dropped, never scratched, yet I still have a case, just incase(pun intended) Although a naked iPhone is the sexiest gadget around.
