iPod accessory question: iTalk

Anyone familar with this product? I'm mainly concerned about how it connects to the iPod. With the latest design ditching the remote port on top, I'm wondering if the iTalk needs that to work or if it goes strictly by the headphone connection.

Pretty much every accessory that worked on iPods with headphone accessory prots is toast. There's no way an iTalk or iTrip or anything will work with it. Everything has to be reworked to run through the dock connector now.

Here's an image fo the new iTrip. It's safe to say that Griffin will be redesigning the iTalk in a similar fashion.

I've had really patchy experiences with both the iTalk and the Belkin iPod voice recorder. There's significant battery drain, and often the thing just won't record, even when over half the battery is full and you just want to record a few minutes.

Someone may want to correct me and say this is fixable with a firmware update, etc., but I'd recommend getting a dedicated voice recorder/dictaphone, or one of the MP3 players with it properly integrated. And this is coming from someone who loves his iPod.

Really? Why is that?
