iPod nano Impressions (No Pics)

Two-gigabyte flash players are rare as hen's teeth in the United States, and rival four-gigabyte models are nonexistent (one gigabyte is generally the maximum). Color screens are uncommon on flash players, too; Samsung and iRiver each make one, but they're a lot bigger, uglier and less capacious.
Well, at least you don't need eyesight to compare devices with that ipod you don't own.

I've used the Nano for a day and I let my friend use my new U2 for a day.

My friend now wants a U2.

And I wanted mine back after 20 minutes of using the Nano.

my guess is your friend is just saying that knowing how beligerent you get about ipods. :P

seriously.

not tomention the iaudio's screen is ridiculously small AND control still blows goats compared to the click wheel. if you need/want all the features, or the mild sound improvement is important, go for it. but giving up useability and a much nicer screen for all of that is definitely a I think a very unpopular decision.

and if you want a 4GB player it doesn't matter, because you just don't have a choice.

It's also bulkier than a Nano.

Still, Cowon makes abotu the only products that compete with Apple on form facoter. Interafce is not as nice, though.

And I'd suggest that it's Cowon's problem and nobody elses that so few people know about their products. I read a lot about this stuff, and even among the DAP-set the Cowon isn't well known.

I don't own a Nano, nor do I plan to buy one, but I can tell you the larger capactiy, better form factor and better controls all trump an FM radio. I know some people really like that feature, but clearly, some also do not care.

As far as audio fidelity-- never minded the iPod, even after owning the superior Nomad Zen. I don't listen in quiet places.

Lemurnator, you are a turd. I don't see any iPod Nano impressions in your post. Please go away. Thanks.

NY Times needs to do a bit more fucking research.

2 GIGs

Sound quality that wipes the floor with NANO and Shuffle.

Feature set that wipes the floor with Nano and Shuffle.

Perfectly easy to use.

Perfect.

Best Flash Player Ever

iPod really needs to work on whatever's wrong with the sound in it's flash players. Listening to a portion of a song on a loop on this thing and then listening to the same thing again on a Nano is un-fucking-real.

Try it, if you have access to a U2 or a U3 when it comes out.

I've actually been looking at this one for some time now.
