Just picked up an Iriver h120. This thing is awesome and I got it for $170 after taxes. So easy to use and adding songs on it is just drag and drop.

I do. It also fits in my pocket better than any of the other players which is my main requirement.

I've owned the iRiver and the Zen as well, none of them suck, none of them offer anything significantly better than others in terms of MP3 playback - all the iPod haterz are busy arguiing over 1 dollar out of a million and coming across as dickheads in the process. You really cant go wrong with any of the major HD mp3 players imo.

Actually I'd like to see a photo of you with each one in your pocket. Your mp3 player could be as powerful as my laptop but if it doesnt fit in my smedium jeans pocket then it may as well be a piece of runny poop for all the good it will do me, for example, my Zen NX 30 dumped on my iPod from a great height in terms of sound quality, but it served no purpose as it didnt fit comfortably in my pocket:

My 3g iPod next to my Zen NX - and Zen owners wonder why I laugh when they try and argue that the Zen is only a few mill bigger and it doesn't make much difference.

I won't argue that size doesn't matter, the Nomads are bigger and heavier than the iPods, although for me personally it's not a big enough difference for me to want to switch. The iPod is a wonderful device, no doubt about it, but my 30GB Nomad was fairly in expensive and doesn't bother me when I use it on the belt clip. Plus, as you've mentioned, the Nomads have pretty renowned sound quality, which I appreciate both when listening to it through headphones and outputted to my car stereo. I definately think the iPod is the better looking of the two, but compared to alot of alternative players, the Nomad Zens look pretty nice. Plus, the easily replaceable battery is a cool idea and one Apple needs to embrace in their next iteration of iPods. I think they're both great players and the ultimate choice is of course up to the individual...

Apple right now can/has rest(ed) on it laurels.
The Zen Touch basically tried to copy some of the iPod's asthetics, not the other way around.

Of course they would, it's the #1 selling MP3 player out there. The only difference is that their's tend to cost less. Apple hardware always sells for a premium and it's nice to have alternatives.
