The story of super bright kid who gets rich and fight in an armored suit isn't something people can relate to.

It's not like the death of someone you care about (i.e. Spiderman/Batman) or simply being born as a god, but having to deal with everyday life (Superman/Smallville). You know?

I don't think he's as marketable as the big guys, but I also don't think you know very much about Iron Man.

well tony stark is a drunk trying to live up to his fathers legacy, everyone cant be lifetime movie channel award winners, he's just a tragic character that gets to hide behind ironman and the stark name. I dunno how much his drinking has been in his comics lately but a few years ago the guy was keeling over during his downtime :lol . He does appeal to an earlier generation where kids actually did something besides watch tv and play vid games *more like didnt have any good tv or vid games heh*, back then erector sets, lego's, vehicle models, and replicas were big fun so yeah iron man does appeal to the tech/tinkerer crowd. Even then a good action movie is a good action movie.

Man, that suit looks so awesome. In fact, if Downey Jr. wears that suit through out the entire movie, i wouldn't mind. This movie looks to be bad ****ing ass. Great cast, good director and a great designer. Awesome

After all the stuff that's gone down in Civil War, Iron Man's relevance to me has shot up tremendously. That said, I've always liked him though. Add that with a good director and AAA cast, this has always been a must see movie in my eyes.

....What the hell did i just watch? And did tony stark have a mullet? I mean...i don't recollect him ever having a mullet in the comics.

that 90s cartoon was the bomb

Seriously. It may not seem that way to the casual audience, but Iron Man has become THE central figure in the current Marvel universe, especially now that Cap is out of the picture. I've always had a mild interest in Iron Man, but in the past year he's become one of my favorite characters. Tony Stark is the biggest dick, ever and it's awesome.

Though the second-tier Marvel films (Hulk, Ghost Rider, Fantastic Four) have all been pretty awful, I have a lot of faith in this, especially considering how much invested interest Marvel has in Iron Man at the moment.

I just hate how Hollywood loves to take more and more "Liberties" with an intellectual property than they ever have before & expect us to just swallow the bitter pill. I mean, I'm going to go see "Transformers" this summer, but it's because I'm a fan of the series, not because this is MY Transformers (re: Gen 1 & the fact that they didn't pick Frank Welker to be Megatron's voice either). That being said, I will probably go to see this movie when it comes out, unless the movie previews are as bad as "Ghost Rider" was when I first saw them. Then it can just rot & burn for all eternity.

I seriously hope he's the multifaceted character from the 70s and 80s and not the one now. I don't think I could take 90 minutes of sociopathy out of one of my favorites.

Awesome suit for Mark 1, really want to see what they'll do with the gold and red suit. The second Iron-Man intro was amazing best season for a Marvel cartoon ever.

That happened to a cousin of mine.

Ummm 300?

That was a very close adaptation of the graphic novel by Frank Millar (who also did Sin City)
I wasn't including graphic novels. To be fair, Batman Returns and Spiderman were both good.

I think a drunk playing a drunk is good watching and relatable - so what if he moonlights as a robot. If he's actually drunk while filming well that's Oscar caliber tight there.

What's that glowing thing on his shirt? I really don't know much about Iron Man.

The most showy pacemaker ever.

Man, I love that picture. I'm really expecting good things from this movie.
