Is he fighting Iron Monger?

Yup he is.

I'm still scared, but this looks very promising.

NM, he's indeed facing The Mandarin, the only thing that could go wrong is if they kill him, but I doubt here.

I'm thinking there won't be a main villain, but just cannon fodder. They'll be focusing more on the back story I think.

So we just got out of the IRON MAN panel at the Comic Con, and as per usual, Mr. Jon Favreau (the director) was the man on stage, with jokes all around and a scoop regarding the villain that will be in the film come May 2nd, 2008...Mandarin! That's right, Mandarin! The Chinese language...just kidding. I don't know much about this particular comic book, but if you want to know more about this dude, CLICK HERE and read all about him. More extensive coverage of the panels next week, but until then we leave you with a shot of the special one-sheet teaser poster created for the Comic Con. Art by Ari Granov.

I can never understand this obsession with comic books and comic-movies.
People like fun, fantasy, and action, and there's built-in recognizability and nostalgia. Other than that, who knows?

expressing my opinion dumbass

You came in a thread explicitly about a comicbook movie...to say you don't like comicbook movies. You can see how that might strike people as unnecessary.

I really like thie picture of Downey Jr. where he is forging the helmet, the picture reminds me alot of 'Batman Begins', where also Bruce Wayne started from scrap and built all kinds of stuff himself. I hope this movie will be like that too, a bit of the BB atmosphere.

When people make a thread about a certain game, some people will always show up saying they didn't like the game or how they were disappointed in it. The point is, this is a forum, where people share their opinions with eachother. Negatively or positively on the spoken subject.

Thank you for your opinions!!!!

Now go away.

Yeah, maybe I should have just said comicbook-movies. Because they all suck and don't represent the comic well.

You are the worst kind of troll. 1 vote for ban.

You're not specifically criticizing this movie, you just collectively dismissed all comicbook movies as crap. Now if the post was something like "I hate his armor, it looks like it would chaff", then ok, it'd be a relevant negative opinion. But your post was like hopping into a Halo 3 thread and going "man, first person shooters are stupid".

Holy shit, Iron Monger is huge! I'm a big Iron Man nut (except for Civil War Tony Stark), and can't wait for the movie. Jeff Bridges is playing Obidiah Stane, so apparently that feeds into the movie as well, as that has to be the Iron Monger armor in that shot.

Can't wait for the first trailer of this movie!

I thought the first 2 Spidey movies, the first 2 Superman movies, Batman Begins, X-2 and Sin City were all pretty darn good myself, and they all seem to be very much in the vein of the comics, as far as I can tell.

I'm terribly sorry that I didn't like any of them. Maybe some day you might be able to forgive me, when you're in a divine state of mind.

Assuming you named yourself after the Iron Maiden album, I already forgive you.
hehe cheers buddy

did you just mention the classic Superman movies from the 70/80's? Cause I am talking about the current comic-movie fad in Hollywood from the last couple of years.

WOW! That showed so much... CRAP!

it had some interesting info like how paltrow insisted on doing the kssing scene over and over again.

seriously though, i didn't want to make it into a thread because yeah it's not a lot that's being shown in the clip but it's something new about iron man :p

I was taking a piss and thinking about how Samuel L JAckson would be a great Nick Fury. I heard rumors Will Smith might get the part.

he looks almost exactly like the character he'll be playing.

anyway, it's SAMUEL L JACKSON

I, for one, would love to see an "Ultimates" movie, with all the stars they've lined up so far.

It would be double-sweet if they started establishing continuity through the films to, like ending "The Incredible Hulk" with a tease for the beginning of "The Ultimates" or "Iron Man" working with Reed Richards from "F4."

Man.

Would be cool, but different studios have the rights to different movies/charachters which makes that hard.

Also, anyone know whats going on with Hellboy 2?

Man.

they plan on making the Avengers after the movies for cap, im, ant-man, hulk and thor are all introduiced and it will probably be a mix of 616 and the ultimate continuity.

i hope nick fury is written more like the regular MU version than the ultimate one.

I think it's 100% possible if they care to try hard enough.

But yeah, this is um.. AWESOME.

I think they've started filming this summer. It's going to focus more on folklore and mythology so no Nazis. And I think everyone's back for the movie except David Hyde Pierce isn't doing Abe Sapien's voice anymore.

Movie is looking cool, just put war machine or at least allow him to have a cameo at the end and it seems like it is on the path to an almost perfect movie

I'm too lazy to check but I remember reading an interview that said The Hulk, Iron Man, Captain America, Ant Man, and Thor all could appear in The Avengers.

Throw in Nick Fury, The Black Widow, and Tigra (for me) and you have a pretty awesome line up.

I'd be willing to bet you couldn't get Ed Norton, Samuel Jackson, Robert Downey jr etc. to reprise there roles though.
