I am legitimately impressed by that Iron Man footage. I love the Mark 1 armor, just so slapped together and awesome. I kind of never pictured Stark as an RDJ type, but it works. Nice.

Really?

Both are super rich playboys. Both have substance abuse problems. And oh yeah...

Tony Stark, I always pictured, as a more sharp delivery kind of wit, whereas RDJ is kind of more of that slower, more laid back kind of snark. I don't know, more of a Rob Lowe style. Tom Cruise would've been more along those lines, although RDJ will make a fantastic Drunk Tony in the sequel. Like I said, he turned me around, but more along the lines of "Okay, the movie will work", I still don't think of Tony Stark as that kind of dude but, whatever, I don't have to. He sells it in the movie.

I've seen this footage three times at ComiCon, it is so ****ing amazing. RDJ absolutely nails Tony Stark (Has was in-character for part of a panel and it was awesome.) I think this will be the first really excellent, believable Marvel Movie. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Spider-Man, but this just looks like it's on a whole other level.

Also, about the Hulk, Norton is not only playing Banner but he wrote the script. Incredible Hulk not sucking = confirmed.

Edit: regarding the music in Iron Man - it was said that no bands [besides Black Sabbath] were signed yet, but that Iron Man is "rock and roll when he gets down to business" so that's the kind of soundtrack we can expect.

Can you elaborate on RDJ being in character during the panel? What did he do exactly?

I wish I could remember. :( He came out helping Gwen Platrow walk, and he was wearing his Stark suit, and when they opened up questions his first reply was something quick-witted and smart-ass, very in-character. Then the director talked for a while, and they rolled the footage and when the footage was over he was out of character and totally amazed (he'd never seen it all cut together before.) To THAT he said, "Do you think we could get anymore shots of me in there? Jeeze!"

Edit: Also, since those impressions don't say it, when he's talking about the weapons he said something like, "The Government says the best weapon is one you never have to fire, to that I respectfully disagree! The best weapon is the one you only have to fire ONCE. That's how my dad did it, that's how America does it, that's how I do it."

Yes, because Iron Man looks like it will turn out to be a good movie. Please keep the crap out of Iron Man.

Man, this movie is gonna be so awesome. They're doing everything right. This and the Hulk looks amazing. I love being a marvel fan boy.

Good GOD.....

This looks absolutely AMAZING. They have nailed everything.

I am SOOOOOOOOOO geeked for this. I'm not even a fan of Iron Man and I'm geeked for this!

****ING.

HOLY.

AWESOME.

Dark Knight what?

Oh, and rofl @ "I don't wanna see this on your MySpace page. ... Please, no gang signs."

Downey is going to own as Tony.

Iron Man...Iron Man....Oh my. Oh my.

Looks...perfect. Utter perfection. It's exactly the comics. Superman Returns was the perfect example of how to ruin a comic. This is a perfect example of...perfection.

Agreed.

That looked awesome, when the the iron man suit shows up with the blue glowing from his eyes, man i felt like it was going to be good.

This movie sounds like a win.

Sometimes I see the trailer and I think he seems pretty good, the characterization in that trailer is a little off imo, but then other times I watch it and he seems like Tony Stark if he got shrunk in the was. He looks a lot better then he did in those terrible promotional stills though.

that was pretty damn awesome...but batman would still kick his ass.

oh god here come the geek legions...but seriously tony stark is the better inventor wayne the ultimate detective, id have to say bruce wayne cripples tony stark but iron man would vaporize batman. Those two bumping heads would be comic gold though both have been dickheads historically.

Batman's not a dickhead unless you live in Frank Miller land.

Is the footage still up anywhere? This movie sounds fantastic, but I'm really interested to see the actual footage. Does it look more impressive than that gif people are posting? Because that gif doesn't excite me at all.

How is that clip exciting?

Everything about this movie's production sounds and looks amazing, but I have been highly skeptical about what Favreau will be able to do with the action. Action scenes don't direct themselves.

How is a dude flying alongside raptors not exciting?

Because he's just there. He's just next to them. Then I suppose he does a bit of a spin move. There is nothing to set your heart on fire.

To be fair, this is simply a few seconds of what is certainly a larger action sequence, so I don't mean to pass judgment on the movie's action simply from this. What I am saying is that there is no action (here specifically), so I don't under stand the excitement. It's just him with the jets.

Superman Returns (which I personally loved) was filled with shots of Superman flying, but GAF's consensus was that the movie lacked action. A shot of Iron Man in the air isn't action.

I still have not seen the entirety of the leaked footage, so if someone could link me to a live link maybe I will change my mind.

Here, get it while it lasts.

Wow, thanks a lot. That really looks amazing. It seems like they did everything right. Just seeing RDJ perform makes nothing else matter. Awesome.

An alien in tights flying is lamer than a man in a robot suit with a rocket booster.

At least with Iron Man I can easily see what I'm looking at, unlike TINO.

Additionally old shellhead just looks cool. Is he leading that formation or being pursued?

Iron Man > TINO
