Is anyone else having Windows 10 issues?

PC issues are par for the course, but it seems like as of late WIndows 10 has been glitchy as of late and it's happening on multiple PCs. It has trouble fully loading. Just plain behaving like shit. I have seen this on multiple PCs.

I am curious if anyone else is having issues also. It doesn't seem to be specific to Ryzen or Intel. I'm seeing similar issues on mine and friends PCs.

So it's an issue with slow bootup? Go into your taskmanager and click on the "STARTUP" tab, see whats starting with Windows, it might have added some trash in there. It'll also tell you how long it takes to boot up in seconds.

I did hear a guy at work complaining about his pc acting up after the latest windows update. Maybe look into that, I hear there were some problems.

All the time. Right now I have windows defender accusing some issues with things that have already been deleted.

I've run windows defender, spyware and other antivirus but they dont find anything.

Thinking I might have to do a full reboot (re install everything including windows) to get rid of it.

My Mac never has issues.
Not sure what Mac you have but MBR 2019 after Catalina update was pretty disasterous. Not the mention restarts when you unplug charger, but that's based on internet due to T2 chip, so what can you do...

And to the thread, no I don't have any issues.

iMac 27” 2017 or 2018 model I forget which.
I also have a Mac Pro 2014 which still runs like a champ.

Had issues last month. I formatted and replaced the older version with Win10 Pro 64-bit. Uninstalled all useless apps and equalized my power settings. I'm also running cooler. CPU was really hearing up before the format.

I just did that too. Completely secure erased my M2. We will see what happens.

Ver 2004 introduced a shit-ton of annoying little glitches: twitchy cursors, office 19 license failures, breaking smb shares....I'm hoping they stabilize things soon. failing that, a reset might be your best option.

I haven't had issues like any in this thread so far.
However, one of the updates a earlier this year did something to my PC, meaning that I almost always have to boot up the PC twice to load windows. On the first boot up attempt, the screens turn off somewhere after the BIOS has posted and before the Windows Log On screen comes up.

I just did a fresh reinstall using a secure erase and I am still getting weird issues. I already had an NDU.sys blue screen.
There are also all sorts of weird hangs, where the system just stays in active. No buttons work but the mouse moves. Which is also happening on my friends PC, it’s strange because mine and his system have literally no shared hardware between us. His is an Intel build and mine is AMD.

So i manage about 10 k pc and we had a few issues with 2004 but they are all running smooth over all. Are you just experiencing performance issues? Have you checked your drivers?

My desktop gaming PC has been fine but my work laptop has this issue lately where keyboard inputs just stop registering or take like 30-45 seconds to register *some* inputs after I type them. It seems like it happens any time I open a new chrome tab or stop typing for a couple minutes and go back to typing. It’s fucking obnoxious and I have no idea why it’s doing it all the sudden

After a fresh start... To me this sound as SSD/hdd problems...

SSD problems. Have experienced something similar before when I Bought a cheaper SSD and windows would end up getting corrupted on it which ofcourse would end up causing crashes in games as well.

Not trying to shut down criticism or trying to discredit anyone with issues, but the fact is that I'm on automatic updates and have had zero issues with Win 10 since the start. For what it's worth, both of my Win 10 "gamer PCs" have been stationary PCs with high end premium parts. One of my computers was even upgraded from Win7 to Win8 to Win10 without as much as a hitch.. So you'd understand why I don't get the "PC issues are par for the course" part. Maybe I'm just lucky, but it doesn't feel that way, the OS feels really slick and rock solid to me. It didn't use to be like that though, I've been a PC gamer since the good ol DOS days, so I'm familiar with the struggles that used to be..

I haven't been having your issues, but 2 of my machines have been having the CPU continually go to 99% utilization while idling thanks to "System Interrupts". As soon as I log in to see what's making the fans go full blast and open task manager it stays at 99 for a bit then goes away and drops back down to a few %. Very frustrating. I'm assuming it's a problem with one of the latest windows updates since it happened on 2 different machines around the same time.

Auto Updates on, Windows 10 Pro, always kept up to date. 1 machine is a i5 NUC, another is an i7 Thinkpad. My Hades Canyon NUC hasn't had the problem though.

I had many problems after update 2004, but lately it all went quiet and is good

W10 does a festival of bluescreens everytime it pushes updates, which is why I delay them for as long as possible, in the hopes that they just go away. After 3-4 in the same hour it seems to have gotten over the fact that there is just some stuff it should ignore and then works like a treat, until the next updates.

Those system interrupts sounds like a driver issue.

After installing the latest updates that came out yesterday/today, I've been getting a rash of Bsods. First one mentioned rtwlanu.sys, next after rebooting said ntfs.sys, then after I got to the desktop yet another bsod

No issues. But then again I'm not one to try to modify or fuck with Windows 10 like a lot of people tend to do. 90% of the time when I see people complaining about issues with Windows 10 they did some crazy registry edits to try to disable parts of the OS.

that’s exactly what I did, and my computer is better for it. The only persistent issue I have is the keyboard driver killing the repeat rate upon waking up. I have to make some script to fix it

I'm just sick of the nonsense and forced bloat on Windows now with every subsequent update. I have to get a new laptop soon and when I do I'll be installing Linux on it. I'll only use Windows for my gaming pc's going forward.

Fine here zero issue's on 2 pc's.

Anyway updating is cancer no matter what, a thing that works can only not work at the end of the day.

Mac user here. Haven’t updated Windows 10 in a while on bootcamp. I hope macos big sur doesn’t cause a slew of problems.

My pc is doing fine these days but every 3-6 months some sort of issue pops up. Be sure to disable automatic updates, they can fuck up your pc when you need it most.

I used to have windows problems, they all stopped when I switched to Linux years ago :messenger_sunglasses:

Try starting the PC with the ethernet cable unplugged and see if you still have hangups and errors disconnected from the Internet. Really unplug the ethernet cable, it could be a motherboard problem, I had this issue with 2 motherboards after updates (but this was before Windows 7 even existed...).

(I offered no help, I know)

Removed all the bloat and W10 seems running faster, better. In both instances, I do not take any responsibility. Have run them many times, never had any issue with them.

It will debloat W10. Remove nearly everything that's not required. Option b) seems better, just unistall Adobe reader afterwards.

Option a)

Option b)
