Is drought right now?

I am just thinking, I am writing about how much I like AI, and hentai, but that's cause it feels like there is nothing else to talk about...

It's summer, me taking a 2 weeks vacation, there are already DS2, and new Mario Kart World AAA titles, so there ARE some big things out, not to mention stuff that I haven't played which is a lot.

Yet I am already waiting for The Game Awards to come for new announcements to be made, to feel excited again.

Next month comes MGS3 Remake, so that's something I guess...

I don't know, it all just feels dry, and monotone, too lazy to give new stuff a try.

Maybe I will just read some manga.

100% a you problem. You're feeling a drought right now but are waiting for the Game Awards 5 months from now to announce games that are 1 year to 2.5 years away?

I bet there's at least 10 very good games that's come out in the last 3 years that you haven't touched.

I'm going from mafia 3 to mafia the old country to everybody's golf to ghost of yotei . . . and I need to get back to expedition 33, stellar blade, Astrobot, etc. drowning here.

Maybe you need wider tastes.

No brother. No.

This isn't a problem that will be solved by my making a list but just be assured that the problem isn't the game release schedule.

You may no longer enjoy playing games?

Take a break. Get into fishing or something, then come back fresh.

Youve probably just out grown this hobby then.
You like the idea of games but dont actually like playing games.
Thats fine, talking about games can be entertaining too.

I feel like a bunch of the TGA stuff i still havent gone through and im still digesting.
Summer Game Fest was like yesterday and more games were sent onto the stack.

Im like drowning in games, and I can already see myself skipping some great games simply because I dont have time.
My backlog is already deep, more games are on the horizon for this year, I wouldnt mind being put in a Hyperbolic Time Chamber for a while so I can go into the TGAs this year and be ready to play everything announced.....otherwise Ill be left behind.

There are hundreds upon hundreds of good games out there. If games stopped being released right now, you still would have games for a lifetime.

Drought?

If anything, there's too many games I want to play and too little time to play them in.

OP, you need to rebalance your dopamine levels. That's what vacation is for, relaxing, perhaps being a bit bored and just charging your batteries. You'll be fit for fight when the autumn news start to bombard us again.

when were you when drought hit? i was sat at sofa, playing gaas games, when ps app notification. drought is here. no.
I am on bed, reading Neogaf, sometimes browsing Rule34 too.

BTW, I am also playing gaas game, Honkai Impact 3rd, and I really love it, story, and characters, even though there can be a lot of talking, but still...

Something just feels empty, and lifeless.

To each their own, but I'm always surprised when people have apparently played every game that interest them that has released over the last 30+ years and are completely dependant on new releases to find something to play.

Between Steam and PSN I always have like 40 games on my wishlist lol

For real. Im still on Ep 1 of DS2. And I still have Expedition 33, the rest of Indiana Jones, the rest of Doom Dark Ages...plus Mafia 4 and then Gears and then MGS3 in August. And then Hell is Us that first week of September.

Too many games. Im so fucked.

Such a shame these first world problems.

I don't know, I think I am still into games, just nothing is setting my world on fire at the moment...
Some unsolicited advice.

Stop gooning to hentai (honestly, stop gooning to anything — that stuff destroys your mind and soul).
Take a break from video games for a while — for example, two weeks.
Try picking up a different hobby.
If your interest in games comes back, then play something. But don't play just because you're bored or out of habit.

Remember: we play to have fun — be mindful of that.

Wha.... The last week alone has been a flood for me.

I think people need to support indies and AA games and you won't be waiting. I have 1000+ games in my backlog going back decades. I could not buy another game and be fine for life.

Last week or so I bought on PC during summer steam sale: Victoria 3, Gnomes, Last Epoch, Shapes2, House Flipper, Stellaris, Schedule 1, Total War Britannia, Mass Effect legendary col. Most were $5-15

This week alone I bought, on switch: Front Mission 3, The Thing Remastered (physical amazon), Patapon 1 and 2 remix, System Shock 2 remaster, Neverwinter nights 2, Chronicle of the wolf,
Got 2 ps4/5 games on Amazon due to sales: Metaphor, and Armored Core 6

The trick is to not buy on release day unless you really want to play it that day. Don't allow tempation.
Wait, and buy on sales , cd key sites, and on eshop sales.
Eshop has tons of sales, just not 1st party nintendo. Which for someone who likes indies , older game ports, AA and 3rd party its great.
Or buying physical for cheap on amazon. I am constantly seeing sales where the games are full price online (especially on psn... they suck anymore for sales).

I still have to beat other games from earlier in the year. KCD2, Fantasy Life, Stalker 2, Rune Factory azuma, Radiou, Boltgun, Lunar 1 and 2, Suikoden, Star Overdrive, Saga Frontier 2, Xenoblade X, Tales of Graces f.
Thats just a smattering of new games i haven't beat. There are 1000s from before that I could pick up right now and have fun with, or replay.

Too many games and not enough time to play them all.
I honestly don't see how anyone could not have games to play.

I keep forgetting about Hell Is Us but I liked the demo a lot. At this point I'm hoping they push back crimson desert. Ha!

I'm even skipping some games like death stranding 2 for now. Will probably play it at some point.

Play this frikkin' awesome game I recommended here:

Can tell some of y'all are very young and never dealt with the actual game droughts. You know, before indies and eshops and backlogs, and we all just sat around playing the same Gamecube games over and over waiting 3-4 months in between notable releases.
